Last week we got the first round of Congressional oversight in Bush's two terms when the Senate
released it's report on Iraq pre-war intelligence. This week is part two of what Congressional oversight
looks like.

Here's the goodies:
- Abramoff gained access to White House through Rove
- Rove meets with Abramoff on street corners because it was easier
- White House staff sought favors from Abramoff
- McCain adviser linked to Abramoff
- Rove got 3 NCAA tickets from Abramoff
Sounds like a lot of access for an administration that claims to never have had any relationship with Jack Abramoff. This may be the one good time for Congress to setup an independent counsel with unprecedented subpoena powers, just like it did for President Clinton. I've had my many differences with Pelosi and Reid, but what a difference some oversight can make.

Meanwhile, how many Democrats took Abramoff money and gave him 'access'?
One hundred seventy two pages of Senate committee stuff. How much did that cost taxpayers? And for what? To remind us that every intelligence service in the world and every national leader believed all the same stuff about Saddam?
Democrats and the press have successfully turned intelligence/WMD/Iraq failings into albatross around the necks of Bush and Cheney while failing to report that Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Edwards, Reid, Pelosi, Hillary, Kennedy, Boxer, Feinstein, Durbin, Leahy, et. al., believed the same thing.
Amazing revisionist history.
Kent, we've been through this a million times. Not one single Democrat took Abramoff money. Not one. Yes, some took Abramoff client money, but none took money directly from Abramoff. If we include Abramoff client money as being dirty, then Bush is the biggest recipient of Abramoff client money as well.

The Republican controlled Congress spent 10 times more on investigating Monica Lewinsky than it did 9/11. Priorities, priorities. Republicans have no room to cry.
