ABC NEWS- Palin Interview Part III

This one seemed a little shorter than the previous two. And I was much less impressed with Gibson this time around also. The topic, Domestic Policy.

Palin

She was caught red-handed in her lie about the Bridge to Nowhere. She tried to say that she killed it at three different times while Gibson reminded her each time that she only opposed it well after the federal government had already killed the project. Sarah Palin did not kill the Bridge to Nowhere. She lobbied for it, thought that it was the greatest thing since Tom DeLay and once the feds killed the project she kept the money and spent it on other pork projects. She's lying and she was caught.

My personal favorite was when she tried to say that along with John McCain she would work to stop pork barrel spending, which is impossible by the way and she no more means it than McSame does. But when asked about her millions for seal DNA and her other pork projects she requested just a few months ago, she said that those were projects that were in the light of day. That it was projects that were in the dark or under the table that she wanted to stop. Another lie. Pork spending is pork spending. Every line item in the budget that is approved, whether for serious projects or Bridges to Nowhere, they are in the light of day. If it's in the budget it's there for review and not under the table as she thinks. Maybe, though, giving her absolute lack of any legislative experience at any level (federal or state) she doesn't even know what a discretionary spending bill looks like. That is a very real possibility.

I'm dropping you on this one Charlie. I thought he could have pushed her much more on her bridge lies. He knew she was lying and if there was ever a time to call her bluff it would have been on the Bridge to Nowhere especially after she repeated the completely false claim that she killed it. She didn't. She's a liar. Neither did Gibson lean on her very hard when she lied about how she would work with McCain to stop all pork barrel spending. McCain's lying when he says he'll veto every single bill with pork and Palin's lying when she says she'll help.

This part was Gibson's weakest segment. Overall he's still sitting in the center but he really didn't do his job this time.
