And The Bottom Falls Out

When pressed for an answer of an example of Sarah Palin's qualifications on foreign policy, John McCain answers: "Energy. She knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States of America."

It is obvious Sarah Palin is not qualified to be Vice President of the United States.  I'm sure she's done well for herself in life and family and I'm not trying to take anything away from her in that regard.  She's obviously become governor which is a notable distinction itself.  But energy is not foreign policy.  What gets me is that the energy McCain is talking about is oil and natural gas that is excavated in Alaska.  It doesn't take any foreign policy to produce domestic sources of energy.  Does being able to produce our own supply of energy effect foreign policy?  Absolutely.  But Palin has not done that.  She hasn't conducted any foreign policy, met with a single head of state or dignatary ever and the energy produced in her state is a domestic product that requires not a single interaction with a foreign country.  The McCain Camp wants us to believe that by being governor for 15 months she has somehow embarked on a foreign policy road trip that is larger than any other issue facing America today.  It's just not true.  The oil being pumped from Alaska does not require a single foreign policy objective and it's evident by her lack of communication with any head of state that her governership would require if that being the case.
