This one's gonna be hard to shake: Bush Leaving Office More Unpopular Than Nixon.
"No other president's disapproval rating has gone higher than 70 percent. Bush has managed to do that three times so far this year," says CNN polling director Keating Holland.
Not to worry, though. The right wing already has a plan in place to rebuild the GOP after Bush's departure. Their plan? Become even more right wing and rebuild the party around social issues like abortion and gay marriage. Just like watching a train wreck.
My advice would be to first establish a party since I don't know how anyone could sanely argue the GOP is a mainstream, viable party. But I doubt they go that route. It would be much easier to tighten the reins, deny reality and focus on social issues.
