While I understand that Sen. Lieberman has voted with Democrats a majority of the time, his comments and actions have raised serious concerns among many in our caucus," said Reid, D-Nevada.There is no reason to allow Senator Lieberman to keep his leadership positions. He's an official Independent and he should be treated like a minority senator. Chances are Reid will allow Lieberman to remain in the caucus, which is totally up to Reid. It might be worth it to secure a few votes here and there but the first time Lieberman goes against the majority he should be booted.
"I expect there to be additional discussions in the days to come, and Sen. Lieberman and I will speak to our caucus in two weeks to discuss further steps," he said.
What To Do About Joe?
If it were up to me Joe Lieberman would be out on the street. In many ways I'm glad the Dems didn't pick up a veto proof senate. The only reason I would have hoped for one would have been so Harry Reid could kick Joe Lieberman out. Harry and Joe both met today to discuss their futures.
