Republican Socialism At Work

It seems that Super Capitalist and staunch anti-socialist government bailout guru Republican Minority Whip Eric Cantor's wife runs a branch for Emigrant Bank who just so happened to receive $267 million in socialist tax payer money used to nationalize buy stock in the failing bank. A Cantor aide said that it was unfair to suggest any quid pro quo "since no experts, soothsayers or former U.S. Treasury secretaries at any point or time have predicted the changes in how the bailout money would be used..."

Geez, it doesn't take a soothsayer to see the hypocrisy in all this. The issue isn't whether or not Cantor intervened to see that his wife's bank received socialist money or not, I'm sure he probably didn't. The issue is the fact that without such money his wife's job would be in jeopardy. In normal, every day, reality-world opposing such programs while you personally benefit from them is hypocritical. But remember, it's only socialism when Democrats do it or when poor people benefit from government programs. When Republicans do it it's such a rare occurrence that not even "soothsayers" can predict exactly who benefits from government entitlement programs.
