Senate Dems Hold Up Obama Gitmo Closing

Witness incompetence at work: A large majority of Democratic lawmakers cheered on Bush's rush to war in Iraq and never once set any conditions for the president to do anything less than as he pleased with not only putting this country on the path of endless war, but also in creating a concentration camp where the president ruled we could hold prisoners indefinitely and use systematic torture techniques at will. All of this was allowed by Congress with no oversight whatsoever and with very, very few Democrats ever speaking up.

But now, Harry Reid and his Democratically-controlled Senate has decided the new president must come up with a plan before his requests correcting the last president's blunders can receive any federal funding.

Requiring a plan before we got into this mess would have been nice. As encouraged as I am to finally see Congressional oversight return to Washington, it's too much way too late. Harry Reid, you're a moron.

*Update:

With this news coming from Greg Sargent that Harry Reid could possibly change his mind concerning Gitmo if and when he sees a written plan from President Obama, I really think it's time I publicly call for Reid to step aside. I usually avoid such interactions mainly because what I say means very little, but it's becoming more apparent every day that Harry Reid is not capable to continue leading the Senate Democrats. He's unpopular in his home state and squeamish when it actually comes time to deliver real leadership. With Durbin next in line-- my homestate senator-- I think it gives a little too much power to Illinois. So my next choice what have to be Dodd. But it is time for Reid to resign as majority leader.
