McCain, one of the foremost supporters of the war effort there, posted a late-night message on his Twitter account, which is followed by 1.7 million people:
"Last American combat troops leave Iraq. I think President George W. Bush deserves some credit for victory."Sad.
When things were sadistically horrible in Iraq we couldn't say a word about it. All good Patriots were to keep their mouths shut. Only praise to our Great Leader was allowed. Now that the war is slowly winding down and American deaths are few and far between, the Great Leader gets the credit. There is something morally reprehensible about giving a person credit for something that was wrong and never should have happened in the first place.
Iraq had nothing to do with bin Laden. It had nothing to do with 9/11. It had no WMD. It had nothing to do with the people that attacked us. The invasion of Iraq did not have to happen. It did because Bush ordered it. The last 7 years of war blowing that country up and redistributing our wealth did not have to happen. All of it happened because of George W. Bush. Now we're supposed to give him credit for victory?
The only credit Bush deserves is credit for getting us in a royal mess. Not for Republicans, however. All good news in the media is because of them.
