Josh Marshall and Seth Walls catch John McCain in a clear and total flip flop on troop levels in Afghanistan. In fact, says Marshall, McCain has adopted Obama's plan.
The rundown:
Obama has been saying all along more troops are needed in Afghanistan to hunt down the people responsible for 9/11. McSame has agreed with Bush all along that Iraq is the central front on the war on terror and that no more American troops are needed. Well, today McCain is calling for three more brigades to be sent to Afghanistan. This is a clear acceptance of Obama's policy, the very policy he's been speaking about for almost a year and the very policy that he outlined today. McCain is playing catchup. Will the media call him on it?
