Campaign Notes

I find it exhileratingly odd that McCain's current campaign tactic is to highlight Obama's ability to draw thousands upon thousands of people to his events while McCain can't seem to get 50 people under 50 at his. It's a classic Rovian tactic to play someone's strength against them. In a normal election year where almost 40 million Democrats didn't turn out in the primary I would say the GOP is playing smart. But suggesting that your opponent is popular and that people like him, and that he has the ability to empower people to change their government, isn't something I would call smart right now. But we also have to remember according to Republicans 25% is "popular" and 51% is a "mandate." So to them anyone who can draw hundreds of thousands out into the streets has to be frighteningly raptureist to the GOP.
