s in Afghanistan and talks with Iran. However, in the last month they’ve flipped to exactly Obama’s positions for all three countries. Now they want to claim it’s been their policy all along.News today is that the Bush administration is close to a deal that would set a timetable for all troops to be out of Iraq by 2012. That’s a far cry from anything the GOP has been saying since 2003. And much more similar to Barack Obama’s plan to have troops out by 2010. Also this week the Bush administration (the GOP) announced that it would be sending at least 12,000 more troops to Afghanistan to fight the resurgence of the Taliban—a war that we’ve been fighting since 2001. All along Obama has been calling for a strategic redeployment from Iraq that would send more troops to Afghanistan to actually fight the people responsible for 9/11. Bush’s new deal to set a timetable for Iraq and redeploy more troops to Afghanistan is nothing but the total copy of that Democratic plan. It is the complete acknowledgment that Barack Obama is right about Iraq and the war on terror.
In addition, we all know too that the Bush administration is not above talking to Iran, a policy Obama said he would pursue once in office. Last month Bush sent a delegation to TALK with his Axis of Evil. In the Republican Fantasy World this would be treason if a Democrat did such.
All three foreign policy moves are a complete and total reversal from Bush’s status quo to Barack Obama’s platform for his presidency. There’s no spinning this by Republicans though they will try. If the media were to actually pick up on the fact that Bush and McSame have totally flip-flopped this race wouldn’t be near as close as what it is.
