Bush Ups Pressure On Lawmakers
I think maybe today all I'll do is keep hammering this theme. There is no reason the Democrats should cave to Bush's pressure to act quickly on his bailout plan. No reason whatsoever. Bush created this mess. His refusal to regulate market actions for the last 8 years is the cause and his trillion dollar bailout package is only a band aid. Again, there is no reason to be scared into trusting the most useless president in 80 years. This bailout should be all encompassing or nothing at all. If the American people are going to be forced to pay for a failed businesses debt, then the American people should also be protected against predatory lenders and quick action foreclosures. Congress is there for the people, not for the president. Any Congress that quickly signs off on this president's bill should join the rank and file at Guantanamo Bay. It's that simple. Granting Bush quick and easy passage equates to treason. If you can't oppose the most disastrous and unpopular president in two generations you really don't need that cushy job you currently occupy.
