The Republican Narrative

Republicans are going to try very hard this week to paint the narrative that this economic collapse is the responsibility of the Democrats.  I guarantee they will.  Let's remember it's the Republicans who think our economy is strong and it's Republicans who support bailing out failed businesses with tax payer money.  It's Republicans who are fighting hard to keep mammoth sized CEO salaries in tact while tax payers foot the bill for the companies they ran into the ground.  Last year alone over $39 billion were paid in bonuses to themselves, just bonuses, by the big five banking lenders.  Meanwhile, their stock holders lost $74 billion!! And we are paying their debt.  It's ridiculous.  The president is the economic policy setter, not the Congress.  This is the GOP's collapse.

How can we possibly forget, either, that John McSame's chief economic policy adviser is Sen. Phil Gramm, who has spent two decades arguing for less Wall Street regulation.  This is also the guy John McCain says would make a great Treasury Secretary.  Not to mention, Sen. Gramm sits on the board for UBS who is amongst one of the firms that would benefit greatly from Bush's nationalization of debt with no protections for shareholders and tax payers.  This is their plan.  This is Republican policy.  They want four more years to continue their policies for this country.  Anyone who opposes the grand plans they have for this country, such as $4 gas and nationalization of firms, is an anti-American, terrorist sympathizer.  Try as they may to make this look like they have nothing to do with this mess, giving them four more years to continue their disastrous policies is national suicide.
