How out of touch is the GOP with the financial turmoil in this country? Just last week John McCain published an article (pdf) in Contingencies Magazine praising Wall Street deregulation and said we need the same approach to our health care system.
Is it humanly possible to be so out of touch that you'll just say whatever just as long as it gets you some press? If I'm not mistaken, John McCain has supported every single bailout package by the Bush administration. McCain is already on record supporting the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac socialist bailout. He also supported the Bear Stearns bailout and the AIG bailout. Plus he supports Bush's latest monster-sized $700 billion + bailout package on the table now. How can he possibly claim that he's for deregulation and who in their right mind would want our health care industry mimicking our failing financial system?
It's preposterous that anyone would believe a word John McCain says. But as always, Republicans just want to hear McCain say that he'll balance the budget (which he said again last night) and that he's against evil regulations. They just want him to say the words and they could care less if ever did it or not. Whispering in their small government, capitalistic conservative Republican little ears that capitalism will prevail and that he'll balance the budget in four years or that he'll deregulate everything under the sun has Republicans popping boners all over the nation. Even though he has supported every government regulated bailout that's ever been enacted John McCain is still against regulation and pro-capitalism. I've got a bridge in Alaska if you buy that story.
On another note, Obama has three excellent ads hammering John McCain on this very theme.
