Classic example of what constitutes Republican fiscal conservatism (h/t The Jed Report).During her short stint as governor of the third smallest state in the Union, Sarah Palin has billed her taxpayers for 312 nights that she has spent in her own home! She has also billed the state $25,000 for expenses related to her daughters; and charged the State of Alaska $2,000 for a lavish hotel in downtown New York.
This is Republican fiscal conservatism. Not only did Sarah Palin think the Bridge to Nowhere was a fantastic idea that she lobbied the federal government to ensure the funds, but once she received the money she spent it on other things. This is how Republicans govern. While campaigning they claim that they are fiscally conservative and will cut taxes, balance the budget, get rid of wasteful spending, blah blah blah, but while in office they are anything but tax and spend, Big Government Republicans.
We've already had 8 years of Big Government Republican Rule. It's given us the largest deficit in the history of America. The highest gas prices in the history of America; the weakest dollar in the history of America and for the first time since the Great Depression a wage reduction for the American people. There is no reason, especially judging by Palin's very short time as Govenor of Alaska-- the largest state recipient of welfare in the country-- that her and John McSame would be any different. 8 years is enough!
