For the first time a poll shows Obama with a lead in Georgia. I've always thought Georgia could be in play for Democrats. All it takes is a little work. This doesn't mean Obama's going to win Georgia in the least. What's remarkable is that he's within the margin of error in a deep South state.
*Update:
As if having to retreat to defend yourself in Deep South Georgia isn't a symbol of McCain's latest woes surely the multitudes of Republicans jumping ship on McCain-Palin is. I'll try to get a count going sometime today of all the solid conservative Republicans who have jumped. Needless to say, in 2004 there were plenty of Republicans upset, if not angry, with George Bush's first-term. He was reelected by one of the slimmest margins in history. Yet GOPer's didn't jump ship. They voiced their gripes with Bush but stayed with him and even showed up in large numbers to support him on election day. There's no comparison this time around. A current McCain-Palin campaign adviser and former Reagan Solicitor General, Charles Fried, just endorsed Obama. Let's get this straight a McCain-Palin campaign adviser endorses Obama!
