No game changer here. McCain tried his best with Ayers and Acorn and I thought Obama responded well. McCain often appeared angry, agitated, nervous, demeaning, sporadic and many times he looked like he was going to explode.
Not much else to add. Right wing fringe voters (Republicans) will be happy that McCain at least mentioned Ayers and Acorn but they will be disappointed that McCain didn't call for his murder or call him a terrorist to his face. Had Obama wanted to address the matter of Ayers he could have easily brought up G. Gordon Liddy, but issues facing the American people are much more important than talking about who's the bigger terrorist.
Final word. John McCain's Republican policies must not be allowed to lead this country for four more years. It's time for a change.
*Update:
I just have a couple items to hit on. We saw two very different approaches last night between McCain and Obama. Obama's strategy was to dodge punches, which he did. I think at one point I saw him wave off an offer to respond to McCain, but then decided that he would offer one.
Less than three weeks to go and McCain is still trying to shore up his base. Obama doesn't have to do that. His base is secure and his whole appeal is toward independent voters, and maybe even some cross-over Republicans. We saw McCain trying desperately to energize his right-wing fringe murderous base by mentioning Ayers. It pretty much fell flat on its face.
A lot can change in 19 days but last night was not a game changer.
