As it turns out, the Republicans will not get their way and reelect the first ever convicted felon to the U.S. Senate. 44 year senate veteran Ted Stevens goes down to a recount. A sad day for the GOP I know.
This year's Blue Wave stands at 7 Republican pickups in the senate alone. The Dems are two seats shy of getting to a Super Majority with two senate races still open, Minnesota and Georgia. I think there's a good chance the Dems will pickup the Georgia seat but not the MN seat. The result would give the Democrats a 59 seat membership in the senate with two Independents also largely Democratic leaning.
