For some reason Bill Ayers believes it's time to defend himself and give his version of the events. I find it to be a lousy excuse from a lousy person. Bill Ayers can live in self-redemption and personal regrets all he wants but really there is no excusing his role in the Weather Underground. There's also no other way to describe what his organization did other than as terrorism.
I believe the right wing is correct when they fume about Ayers' terrorist actions. It's when the right wing tried to relate such actions to Barack Obama in hopes to portray Obama as a terrorist himself is when the right wing breaks from sensible to looneyvile.
You can read here a very cordial conversation I had with Lisa of Organized Chaos that pretty much covers all the talking points on both sides of right and left in regards to Obama and Ayers. I'm still fascinated by the concept that living in the same neighborhood as a domestic terrorist is a much stronger link than actually being married to a domestic terrorist as Sarah Palin is.
