Should Have Bet Money On This

Just like when Republicans lost control of Congress in 2006 they suddenly became worried about fiscal conservatism again, now that they have lost the White House too they are suddenly poised to be worried about Congressional Oversight once again.

For 6 solid years the GOP-controlled Congress not one time supplied oversight to George Bush. Enter a new era. Rep. Darrel Issa (R-CA), who will become ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says he will vigorously work to increase independent investigations of President Obama.
By bringing in aides with investigative backgrounds, committee Republicans believe they can increase their capacity to conduct independent investigations, despite lacking the majority's subpoena power.
How thoughtful of him. But why didn't he have the same view on the limits to executive power when Bush was there?
