I'm going to break with a lot of my Democratic friends here and step up and admit that I see no reason for a special prosecutor to be appointed to investigate Bush crimes.
This morning on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, President-elect Barack Obama was asked the question most Democrats are wanting answered.
Obama said he's more concerned with looking forward than backwards. We all know George Bush was the worst president in modern American history. He has screwed up so much that it's going to take years to pull out of his recession. Spending millions on an investigation that tells us George Bush lied to us about Iraq, illegally approved of torture techniques, spied on American citizens without a warrant and botched his oath to protect this country is a waste. His entire presidency is a crime, let's just move on. That doesn't mean we ought to forget about it and not hold Bush and the GOP responsible, that just means we don't need a special prosecutor spending millions telling us what we already know.
