Dems Certainly No Strangers to Wackos

I confess, I spend 99% of the time on The Fold Blog writing about Republicans. For a Party that prides itself in morals, family values, and conservatism, they just make it so easy. If a Democrat, oh I don't know-- let me go out on a limb here-- gets a blowjob in the Oval Office, it just doesn't have the same media shock that it does if a Republican does the same thing. That's precisely because Democrats do not portray themselves to the level of self-righteousness that Republicans do.  So when it happens to Democrats, it's mostly no big deal.  For Republicans, who claim to Walk With God and lead with values, morals and uprightness, it stings like a sunburn.

The most obvious thing to do to keep sex/moral scandals from intruding upon your time in office is to quit with the self-morality.  It's that easy.  Quit with the moral keystone cops and you too can enjoy the one-day story of a sex scandal versus having the whole party ripped apart by them.  Humans are humans and we all fall short.  Don't worry about everyone else's sins and go about your own business.  Republicans can't and won't do that, however.  Meaning The Fold Blog will never have a shortage of posts.

But Democrats have no shortage of nutjob conspiracy theorists either.  Take Democratic congressman Eric Massa as Exhibit A.  In an interview with Esquire magazine, the disgraced congressman claims he has insider knowledge of Dick Cheney plotting with Gen. David Petraeus to run for president in 2012, or what Massa refers to as a coup d'etat.
