  • U.S. economy adds jobs-- the most in 4 years-- but unemployment jumps to 9.9%
  • What is going on with the populist wave to audit the fed?  Looks like it falls flat in the senate and will be a one time audit instead of an annual and will only target new programs.  That's not an audit.  That's smoke and mirrors.
  • Did Neanderthals hump humans?  That's what the NY Times is telling me.  I wonder if it was consensual.
Very Scary People: Tea Baggers Meet Birthers

Somehow I missed the new ABC News/WaPo Poll last week. Not sure how that happened. Maybe they conducted it last week and are just now getting the data out. Nevertheless, what I've read so far is incredibly unnerving.

The take from the poll is the GOP is crowded with conspiracy theorists.
  • Thirty-one percent of Republicans that responded to the poll said they believed President Obama was born in another country.  That is an amazingly high number.
  • An overwhelming number of people who claimed to support the tea baggers identify themselves as Republican or GOP leaning.
  • Of those who identify as being tea baggers, 72% claim they do so in opposition to President Obama's policies.  And what is their biggest motivator?  85% claim a concern for the economy.
