Bachmann: If We All Had the Spirit of a Serial Killer

At first I laughed off Michelle Bachmann's comment about being proud to have the same spirit as serial killer John Wayne Gacy, in which she referred to it as a spirit of sacrifice for America.  Not too sure sacrifice is a good word choice when talking about someone who murdered about 30 people.  Nonetheless she meant John Wayne the actor.

Those are easy things to confuse when on the campaign trail.  Every day you wake up in a new place and you are expected to know everything about the place you are in.  You're bound to misspeak. She's been known in the past to confuse towns and states she's visiting, so just add this to the list.

Then I realized Bachmann is actually from Waterloo, Iowa.  It's not that she confused a town she had never been in before.  She botched her hometown!!  How can you be born in Waterloo, IA and not know your most famous citizen is John Wayne Gacy not an actor born with a completely different name in a completely different town over 100 miles away?

This would be like Reagan going back to Tampico, Illinois and saying he's proud to have the spirit of hometown boy Lincoln in him.  For modern America; however, this is the supposed rising star if not the vanguard of the Republican Party.  God Help Us All!
