Bob Dole Hates America and is Muslim

Bob Dole goes to Fox News and tells the cult exactly what they don't want to hear.
Asked whether he would be welcomed by the Republican Party today, Dole said, “I doubt it. Reagan wouldn’t have made it, certainly Nixon wouldn’t have made it, because he had ideas. We might have made it, but I doubt it.”
No doubt Reagan, who raised taxes 11 times, grew government to enormous levels, supported gun-control, granted amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, secretly sold arms to Iran (one-third of the Axis of Evil), armed Saddam Hussein (one-third of the Axis of Evil), armed, funded and openly supported al Qeada and bin Laden, and who dared call the neocons the "crazies in the basement," would not be considered for a precinct committeeman's office in today's GOP, much less anything higher.

I find it highly unlikely that Dole, a two-time presidential candidate, would be either.  Insane people like Ted Cruz, and Darryl Issa are what Republican voters want in their candidates.  On the contrary, Bill Clinton is welcomed to the Democratic Party with opened-arms, and by the public in general.  So is his wife who will probably be the next and first female president.  So is Gore, and so is Carter.  Aside from Dukakis, who is still very much a part of Democratic circles, I can't think of any who would be shunned today.  The GOP is all but reserved for crazies, bigots, and entertainers.  The 70s, 80s and 90s Republican Party is long gone.

Republican Adam Kokesh Calls for Armed Overthrow of America

A 2010 Republican candidate for New Mexico's 3rd Congressional Seat, Adam Kokesh, is calling for a 50-state armed rebellion against the federal government.

Kokesh is a familiar face amongst the Ron Paul Republicans.  He claims to be anti-war and yet calls for an armed rebellion against the federal government.  Of course, as with all Republicans, he's just mad his Party isn't in power anymore. And since they can't win at the ballot box, they must turn to violent means to ensure the rule of the GOP.

Late update:

Kokesh has called off his march on DC.  He is instead insisting his followers march on their respective state capitols to force them to nullify the Union. Sounds like a cop-out to me.

They Said It...

This week's account of normal everyday Republican patriot speech

  • Republican Fox News Host Andrea Tantaros: “This is what is happening to our press! This is Obama’s America! It’s like the Soviet Union.  He said he would change the country. He said it. And a lot of people voted for him.  And if you see any of those people today, do me a favor, punch them in the face.”
  • Republican Alex Jones: "of course there's weather weapon stuff going on -- we had floods in Texas like fifteen years ago, killed thirty-something people in one night. Turned out it was the Air Force."
  • Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-TN): “For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: Anyone unwilling to work should not eat.”

Whatever You Do, Don't Say Vagina

While teaching human anatomy in a 10th grade biology class in Idaho, the teacher is under investigation for referring to the female reproductive organ as vagina.

From Raw Story:
According to students who have set up a Facebook page to “SAVE THE SCIENCE TEACHER!!” certain parents may have had a political agenda in going after McDaniel. Sixty-six percent of church goers in Lincoln County, where Dietrich is located, are affiliated with the Mormon LDS Church, according to 2002 Glenmary Research Center data.
The Fold Blog would also like to point out that the Republican candidate, Willard Mittens Romney, easily won the Idaho county where the high school is located with almost 70% of the vote.  Is there not a sane one amongst them?

Hey, remember that time we went to war with the army we had---not the army we might want or wish to have at a later time

Kennedy School of Government at Harvard places the all-in costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in the $4 trillion to $6 trillion range when all is said and done with "the largest portion of that bill is yet to be paid."  Yep, the smartest thing George Bush ever did was invade Iraq.

So how does a very fiscally responsible, very conservative administration embark on such policy?  Easy answer.  They told the public that the war would cost $50 billion and "go relatively quickly. Weeks rather than months."-- Dick Cheney, March 16, 2003.

That it would largely pay for itself  "from oil revenues, recovered assets, international trade, direct foreign investment…”  -- Donald Rumsfeld, March 27, 2003.

That Iraq was a country that could "really finance its own reconstruction, and relatively soon."-- Paul Wolfowitz, March 27, 2003.

It would be a "cakewalk."  That's what we were told.  That's what we were led to believe.  Nothing they told us turned out to be true.  Every bit of it was a lie told by madmen with a psychopathic hunger for war.  Yet the one thing we can never ever do in America is call the people who instituted this policy fiscally irresponsible and big government spenders.  Oh no, that label is solely reserved for Democrats or people who oppose the Very Serious, Very Fiscally Prudent, Very Conservative GOP.  That's just how it is.

Modern Republican Masculinity

Super tough guy Republican, Sen Ted Cruz of the very super masculine state of Texas, delivered a speech to a hack Republican organization where he not only questioned the patriotism of two of President Obama's recent cabinet appointees but flat out called them "less than ardent fans of the U.S. military."

The two appointees are Vietnam Veterans Chuck Hagel and John Kerry.  Sen. Ted Cruz has never served a day of his life in the military.  Now what in the world could make two Vietnam Veterans be labeled as unpatriotic anti-Americans while a person who never served so much as a second in combat or much less in uniform be so pro-America????  Very simple.  Cruz supports without question Bush's Endless War program and Hagel and Kerry long ago ended theirs.

It truly is that simple.  Hagel and Kerry, who between them have 5 Purple Hearts from their service in Vietnam, are against America because they no longer support the Republican view of Forever War and no longer support the Republican vision for this country.  While Cruz, who was born in Canada and never served a day of his life in the military, is the epitome of Super Tough Guy, Republican Pro-War American Hero, just as long as someone else is doing the fighting for him, Manly Man all because he's Republican.  It's so old. It's so lazy.  It's so tiresome.  But it's how it is.

If you listen to his whole speech the Republicans in the crowd cheer him on.  They love being told how tough they are and how patriotic they are while calling people who don't support them anti-American.  They cheer and thump their chests with big boastful grins.  It is the pride of their existence.

Republican Wants Budget Deficits to be a Crime Against the Nation

A U.S. House Member from Alabama wants a president who doesn't balance the budget to be able to be impeached by the House and possibly removed from office.

I'm sure this very smart and very fiscally conservative tea bagging Republican knows full well that such a law would have caused Ronald Reagan to be impeached by a Democratically-controlled House and removed from office by a Democratically-controlled Senate.  But of course we all know Reagan ran huge budget deficits and never once balanced the budget because he loved America.

If, however, running a budget deficit is impeachable, how bad must it be to take the largest surplus in the history of the nation and turn it into a huge hundred billion deficit in a matter of months after taking office like George W. Bush did.  If that's not cause for immediate removal, once the Democrats took over the legislative branch in January 2007, they would have impeached Bush and removed him from office by Spring.  Would have Rep. Mo Brooks supported that?  Not a chance.

But we all have to remember, Reagan and Bush tripled the federal doubt and then doubled it again only because of their Patriotic Reverence for the nation and now that a Democrat is in charge budget deficits are so evil and so detrimental to the nation that the president must be charged with crimes against the nation.  This should be in effect until a Republican takes back the White House.

Bill Bennett Plays Imaginary Fiscal Conservative

As always, we are forced to take the tough-talking, fiscal stewards of the Republican Party very seriously.  After all, they pride themselves as the last bit of fiscal sanity in an age of out of control spending that has caused huge amounts of debt to pile up.  Except that spending and the deficit have actually shrunk and leveled off, they would be right.

Very Serious Fiscal Conservative Bill Bennett writes:
If $16 trillion of national debt and the huge deficits each year aren't spending problems, then what is? The United States most certainly has a spending problem. For the president to insist otherwise is dumbfounding but at the same time entirely consistent with his policies.
Eeeewwww Bennett is so tough.  He is such a fiscally responsible person that he surely must know the "huge deficits" he claims to be so concerned about were created by George W. Bush and the GOP.  Barack Obama has shrunk the budget deficit from Bush's all-time high.  As for the debt, no president could have inherited a $1.4 trillion budget deficit and kept debt from piling up.  No one.  If Bush and Bennett's Republican Party had not left President Obama the worst financial situation in history, maybe Bennett would have something to complain about.  But the facts are Obama did not create the debt problem, the deficit problem, the unemployment problem, the GDP problem, or the spending problem.  He inherited all of it from Bush and since Obama has taken office, every single category has gotten better.

But enough of my rant.  Let's see just how fiscally responsible Bennett truly is.  In order to do that, we must look at raw spending data.  So, again, the trusty little graph we've used over and over again shows us just how fiscally insane Bill Bennett really is.

Clearly, as anyone with eyes can see, when spending was increasing at the most rapid rates since WWII, Bill Bennett never complained, never warned about fiscal doom, never did anything.  Over $1 TRILLION of new spending was added to the budget in 7 years and Bill Bennett was silent.  What would cause Bennett to justify such huge spikes in spending then but now be sooooo concerned about spending when it has slowed at the lowest rates in 60 years?

Easy answer actually.  Bill Bennett doesn't care about spending.  He doesn't care about deficits or the debt.  Bush doubled the federal debt and Reagan tripled it and Bennett never said a word.  But Obama inherits over $1 trillion of debt every year and Bennett is stroking out pretending he actually cares.

This is modern Republicanism.  They love spending.  They love debt and care not one bit about deficits.  They just don't want Democrats doing the spending.  Bush increases spending, crashes the economy, issues 8 tax payer funded bailouts and Republicans loved it.  As you can see from the chart, they couldn't get enough of it.  Not until a Democrat takes the White House does spending level off.  And it is with this leveling off that Republicans like Bennett first call it a crisis.  It's truly insane.

However, more must be said of CNN for letting Bennett pretend to be fiscally responsible and trash the president.  In order to be remotely considered "fair" the whole country is forced to accept people who believe the Earth is flat as Very Serious People.  We're all doomed as long as the media doesn't give a rip.

When Adding Over $1 Trillion of New Spending Wasn't a Problem

Shortly after being reelected Speaker of the House, John Boehner told his chamber that an anchor of debt was destroying America.
The American Dream is in peril so long as its namesake is weighed down by this anchor of debt.  Break its hold, and we begin to set our economy free.  Jobs will come home.  Confidence will come back.
Sure debt isn't anything to brag about.  But how did we get our debt?  When Republicans took full reign of power in 2001, there was a huge budget surplus with a federal debt of just over $5 trillion.  When George W. Bush left office, he had created a $1.4 trillion deficit and more than doubled the nation's debt to $11.3 trillion.  And during that time, John Boehner and his caucus never said one single word.  In fact all they did was pass unfunded bill after unfunded bill never once worrying about what it would do for future policy makers.  And certainly John Boehner and his fiscal fraud caucus never said one word about an anchor of debt imperiling the nation.  Want proof?

As you can see, there is a huge uptick in government spending right up until 2009. Those are the George Bush years.  The years when spending huge amounts of money, while cutting revenue, waging two unfunded wars and raising not one single penny to pay for anything was considered Super Patriotic.  Tough Guys governed us then.  They called themselves Fiscal Conservatives and any dissent against their Super Patriotic Spending was considered treasonous.  They spent like drunken sailors.  And they are the same people telling us today that spending is out of control and an anchor of debt is destroying our FREEDOM.

But now, now that spending has actually leveled off and shrunk as in the case last year, it's a huge problem that is all Obama's fault.  Except there's one problem with that.  It was the Republicans led by George Bush that added over $1 trillion of new spending in 7 years time.  Barack Obama did not set baseline spending at $3.5 trillion.  The GOP did.

Since Barack Obama has been president, spending as increased by 1.4% the slowest spending increase in 50 years.  Now that Republicans are no longer in power they once again get to pretend to be fiscal hawks that want to set this country Free. Free of the debt and fiscal disorder they created but don't want anyone to actually stop and think how we got in this shape in the first place.

*Update:

BP indirectly makes a good point in the comments section.  John Boehner once again weeps like a little sissy girl after being sworn in as Speaker.  This wouldn't be such a big deal if he wasn't leader of the political party that prides itself as being the epitome of gun toting manly men that want to bomb every country with a name they can't spell.  So here ya go all you tough-talking super macho endless war loving Republicans.  This is the guy you have to go to if you want something...he's your MAN...

hahahahahahhahahahahahha

Republican Conspiracy Refresher

Since the election I've mainly focused my conspiracy theory attention to myths on how the GOP lost the election.  Those are the most fun for me.  Republicans lose big time in an election they predicted was an easier cake walk than invading Iraq and both turned out just about the same for them.  Doesn't get any better for those of us in the reality-based community.

Because of this, I missed out on Republican conspiracies floating around about Hillary Clinton and her intentional fainting spell so she could get out of testifying about her huge cover up on Benghazi.  A little fainting doesn't fool anyone, so Mrs. Clinton had to come up with something bigger to avoid Rep. Issa and his truth-finding committee.  So how about a blood clot in the head?  Nope, she's not fooling anyone.

God-forbidden, if Hillary were to become very ill and pass away due to her sickness, these total idiots would no doubt believe she faked her own death to avoid testifying to their witch hunt committee.  They're insane, and sadly, they are a major political party that shares legislative power in America.

Crist Switch Hits

Not sure this is a huge story or even a big deal.
(CNN) – Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who served his state as a Republican then sought office as an independent, tweeted Friday night that he switched his party affiliation to Democrat.
He pretty much ended his GOP credentials the moment he gave President Obama a slight hug in 2009.

This is how the completely idiotic right wing saw it.

So now he's a Democrat.  The largest political affiliation in the country is Democratic.  So he's merely just getting in line.

More Polling Gems

The most recent PPP poll sure is an attention grabber.  As I listed below, the poll shows about 25% of registered Republican voters want their state to secede because Obama was reelected, which is just ridiculous in its own right.  Well, that same poll also shows 49% of Republicans believe ACORN stole the election for Obama.  Of course they believe his reelection was rigged.  They are told nearly every hour on Fox News that Democratic voter fraud is rampant and that all the polls are skewed to favor the president.  Except there is a tiny little problem with this latest conspiracy theory for 2012.  ACORN is no longer in business.  It closed its doors in 2010 and had no operational basis this election year.  Let's not let facts stand in the way of a good Republican Conspiracy Theory, however.

*Update:

What was Point #3 I mentioned the day before the election?  "3. Voter fraud.  Black Panthers, Chicago thugs, and early voting stole the election."

Again, no I'm not that smart.  It's just that Republicans really are that dumb and so easy to predict.

World's Biggest Cry Babies

Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling says their latest poll shows 25% of registered Republicans want their state to secede because of Obama's reelection.

It really has to suck to be a Republican.

Murdoch App Fails

Rupert Murdoch closes down his mobile app newspaper, Daily.  Like most people I couldn't for the life of me figure out how the people who run Fox News could think they could actually infiltrate the Apple world.  Though I will admit, it lasted longer than I thought it would.  I even almost downloaded it once.

Learned Their Lesson

Coming off a huge national election in which women and minorities rejected them in large numbers, Republicans appoint an all white male lineup to chair House committees.  Oh wait, I forgot.  They lost because of skewed polls voter fraud Hurricane Sandy flawed candidate no wait, they didn't lose.  They actually won!!

Saying All the Right Things

Some time ago I wrote a post about how Republican voters really don't care about anything else other than their elected officials saying all the right things.  I've expanded on that post a few times pretty much concluding Republicans care nothing about governance, they simply want to be told "all the right things."

The easiest example of this is to point out how everything goes back to Reagan. He's the guy Republicans believe reinvented America by shrinking government, cutting spending, and reining in the debt.  Deep down they know none of that is true; they just like being told it happened and will happen again once Republicans reclaim power.

Since the time of Reagan, though, a few other talking points have popped up that Republicans have to mention in order to keep their base happy.  The easiest example of this is the complete rejection of science Republicans must exempt in order to be even remotely considered in the national debate.  Sen. Marco Rubio did exactly what he was supposed to do and he is now probably the GOP front runner for 2016.

Say all the right things: shrink government, cut taxes, rein in the debt, shrink the deficit and refuse modern science.  It's a no-brainer for any Republican.

Romney's Polling Lead That Never Existed

Big Romney fundraiser speaking to WaPo today:
“A lot of people feel like Christie hurt, that we definitely lost four or five points between the storm and Chris Christie giving Obama a chance to be bigger than life,” said one of Romney’s biggest fundraisers, who requested anonymity to speak candidly.
What was Lie #2 I wrote about the day before the election that Republicans would use to blame for Romney's loss?
2. Hurricane Sandy was an October Surprise that blew the election to Obama's favor.  An election Romney was winning they think.
Just like I said.  Their irrational behavior is so easy to predict.

Except for the fact that no poll in the country showed Mitt Romney ahead by 4-5 points before the hurricane, then they would be right.  It's total farce to suggest Romney had a 5-point lead going into Frankenstorm.  No truth to it at all.  Only Fox News' "unskewed polls" showed Romney with that kind of lead.  None in the reality-based community ever projected such a spread.

They will keep saying this, though.  It makes them feel better.  It makes them think they didn't lose the election based on ideas and policy.  They lost it due to an act of God that no one could control; and from betrayal.

Most Delusional Reactions on the right to Obama's Victory

It's already started people.  Not even 12 hours after winning a huge reelection by a much greater margin than their Great Leader, they are already calling for Obama to be stopped and that the American people gave him no clear mandate to lead.

Fox News pundit Charles Krauthammer: “I think the real story here is that Obama won, but he’s got no mandate.”

Fox News pundit Dick Morris: "Morris agreed, adding however that “'we need to understand just how weakly this president was re-elected, by the skin of his teeth.'” The Republican party, he continued, needs to work with Obama “'when he’s positive,'” but “'otherwise, we need to stand up against this socialist agenda and stop him from fundamentally changing the United States.'"

Later, he added that “I think that what we have to understand is that this is a president that lost seven points of the mandate that he was elected for in 2008; he won by seven then, he won by one last night. And I think that the Republicans cannot be intimidated, they can’t be cowed. They’ve got to stand up and make sure that he does not make permanent these socialist, big government program that he’s been pushing since his first term.”

Let's see here.  Again, these two idiots couldn't be more wrong.  Currently Obama has over 50% of the popular vote of which he's up about 3 million votes with millions still to count.  He also captured 332 electoral votes to Romney's 206.  That isn't winning by the "skin of his teeth."  Far from it actually.

Compared to Bush's victory in 2000, it's a gigantic blowout.  Even compared to Bush's 2004 victory where he only won 286 electoral votes and by a margin of just over 3 million votes, it's still a huge blowout.  Plus, after 2004, Bush and Republicans did exactly what Morris is now saying isn't true: they claimed a mandate!! Bush himself said he had political capitol to spend.

So in what world does any of this make sense?

  • 2000 election, you lose popular vote and win electoral college by 1 vote.  Mandate!
  • 2004 election, you win popular vote by a little over 3 million and electoral college with 286.  Huge Mandate!
  • 2012 election, Obama wins reelection with bigger margins than George Bush ever did.  No Mandate, country is divided, we must stand up to his socialist agenda and fight him to save America!!

Barack Obama has been elected twice President of the United States by bigger, wider, larger and more popular margins than George W. Bush ever did.  Being told he has no mandate, that he won by the skin of his teeth, that we must fight his socialist agenda and that America is still divided is pure treachery.  No question, these people truly hate America.

Dick Morris Triples-Down

No doubt Dick Morris hasn't a clue as to what he's talking about.  Yet the right wing crazies love him.  They pay him millions to appear on Fox News and tell them things they want to hear.  Things like how Mitt Romney is going to win in a "landslide."  You would think after being so wrong about so many things Republican Fox News viewers would have caught on to Morris' idiocy   Oh no, they'll take his attempt to save face and largely blame his incorrectness on Hurricane Sandy and Chris Christy as the gospel truth.
But the more proximate cause of my error was that I did not take full account of the impact of hurricane Sandy and of Governor Chris Christie’s bipartisan march through New Jersey arm in arm with President Obama. Not to mention Christe’s fawning promotion of Obama’s residential leadership.
It made all the difference.
Ummm you're still wrong little Dick. You're just as wrong as you have always been. There is no poll in the nation showing the hurricane swung the election to Obama. Obama was leading in electoral polling and in popular vote before the storm hit. The only polls, the only data that didn't show this were Fox's "unskewed" idiot polls.  In other words, the polls Republicans swore up and down were the correct ones that turned out to be embarrassingly wrong are still what Republicans are pinning the reasons on for their huge losses.  It's truly insane.

Wednesday Morning Excuses

Before all the hoopla begins on Wednesday, I wanted to jot down the five biggest excuses/conspiracy theories Republicans are going to be using to contend that President Obama's reelection was stolen proving that he is not a legitimate president.  Yes they are that crazy and yes they are that easy to predict.

I'm tempted to start off with Hurricane Sandy as reason number one for Republicans.  But since it's so new of an excuse, I think it needs some more time to simmer.

  1. Romney was a flawed candidate.  He didn't run as a true conservative with all of our values in morals as his first priority.
  2. Hurricane Sandy was an October Surprise that blew the election to Obama's favor.  An election Romney was winning they think.
  3. Voter fraud.  Black Panthers, Chicago thugs, and early voting stole the election.
  4. The media wanted Obama from the beginning and there was no way they were going to let him lose.
  5. Obama ran as a conservative proving once again we are a conservative nation.
