Rand Paul believes people were too harsh on him about his Afro-outreach where he tried to tell students at Howard that the Republican Party hasn't changed in the last 153 years.
Welcome to the big leagues Randy. This isn't your daddy's monthly newsletter doing the reporting here.

North Korea would be over in a matter of weeks not months
The man who told us Iraq would only last a matter of weeks, that it had something to do with 9/11 and the invasion was "sound policy", attended one of his infamous GOP leadership meetings where he told his fellow Bushies that we are in deep doo-doo in regards to North Korea.
Why this guy is allowed to speak about American foreign policy ever again is a travesty for human life.
Palin Proves Once Again She's Stupid Crazy
94% of the $5.1 million Sarah Palin's political action organization spent last year went to political consulting firms.
So what's the big deal?
Here are some "notable" lines from the Palin's last public appearance via the Daily Beast:
"Now is the time to furlough the consultants, and tune out the pollsters, send the focus groups home and throw out the political scripts, because if we truly know what we believe, we don’t need professionals to tell us”
Sarah Palin spent $4.8 million last year on consultants, pollsters, focus groups, speech writers and professionals. The very thing she says politicians and the public alike need to stop doing she did excessively. And probably, the very speech listed above where she decries political consulting was more than likely written by a paid professional political speech writer/consultant. Folks, it just doesn't get any more fraudulent than Sarah Palin.

Saying All the Right Things
Some time ago I wrote a post about how Republican voters really don't care about anything else other than their elected officials saying all the right things. I've expanded on that post a few times pretty much concluding Republicans care nothing about governance, they simply want to be told "all the right things."
The easiest example of this is to point out how everything goes back to Reagan. He's the guy Republicans believe reinvented America by shrinking government, cutting spending, and reining in the debt. Deep down they know none of that is true; they just like being told it happened and will happen again once Republicans reclaim power.
Since the time of Reagan, though, a few other talking points have popped up that Republicans have to mention in order to keep their base happy. The easiest example of this is the complete rejection of science Republicans must exempt in order to be even remotely considered in the national debate. Sen. Marco Rubio did exactly what he was supposed to do and he is now probably the GOP front runner for 2016.
Say all the right things: shrink government, cut taxes, rein in the debt, shrink the deficit and refuse modern science. It's a no-brainer for any Republican.

They Wouldn't Be Republican Without Their Conspiracies
To the right wing lunatics, Gen. Petraeus is a true American hero of the highest order. He saved George Bush's butt in Iraq. He even answered the call from Obama to save Afghanistan. They've been stroking off to this guy for quite some time. So the only way they can compute in their tiny minds his sudden fall from grace is Obama set him up to-- of course-- discredit the military.
Shellshocked by reality
Startling read from CBS News last night about just how unprepared Team Romney was for defeat on election day. The story reports not one person in the Romney camp had any thoughts about losing the election. In fact, they were "shellshocked" to see the evening unfold the way it did.
I won't get into all the details here because I don't have much time this morning to cover it. But the big consensus is how could a huge campaign for the most powerful office in the world be so wrong? The answer is so simple that I think many people are overlooking it. It all boils down to the alternate universe created by Fox News. They truly existed in their own reality where they believed they couldn't possibly lose.
Sometimes I refer to this co-reality as the Republican Fantasy World. But whatever you want to call it, it's real. It is a dimension with its own facts, its own data, its own media, its own reality. The Romney Camp operated entirely engulfed in this universe never once peaking out to view reality.
Their world is a place where President Obama was so unpopular they thought Sarah Palin could have beaten him. She even said herself that she can't believe the results from the American people. It's a world where they believe the unemployment rate has been fixed by the administration to help his reelection. Where Obama gave guns to Mexicans so they would commit crimes here and he could finally institute his gestapo to come and take away guns from every American people. It's a world where they believe the president's approval rating was in the low thirties. Where the polls were being skewed in his favor to ensure his reelection. They are told all this stuff and much, much more every second of every day on their Fox News teevee sets. So the question is, how could you not believe you were going to win when you're whole life is consumed by a false reality?

Erick Erickson Says Republicans Should Come Up With New Ideas Like Repealing Obamacare
In what is possibly the most delusional item I've read since the election Tuesday, Erick Erickson writes what I'm sure he believes to be an Awesome Call to Action to move the Republican Party forward in the 21st century.
Those aren't new ideas. They are the same old tiresome Republican ideas of the last 30+ years, dusted off and repackaged just like Erickson says shouldn't be done. Anyone remember Mittens' Five Point Plan that he mentioned every other word?
Such thought from the right wing is no surprise. Of course their ideas weren't rejected. The polls were skewed, the media was in bed with Democrats, Black Panthers were election judges, and Obama gave minorities free iPhones for votes. All is normal, the GOP is still the party of 21st century Americanism.
Moving forward, the conservative movement from within the GOP needs to advance new ideas, not just dust off and repackage old ideas. The principles remain the same. The principles are fixed. But the ideas that advance those principles must fit into the twenty-first century. And what might those new ideas be?
The GOP should start with education reform. They should tackle tax reform. They should work the break up big banks by forcing big banks to capitalize further. They should not shy away from tackling social security and medicare reform — ideas that did not hurt them with senior citizens and will ultimately help them with younger voters. They should still fight to repeal Obamacare and explain to the American people why it is sucking the life out of the economy.Education, break up the big banks that Bush bailed out, reform Social Security and Medicare, repeal Obamacare. Huh, new ideas? These are exactly what Mitt Romney and the GOP ran on and lost big time.

- Education reform
- get rid of government regulations burdening the economy
- reform Social Security and do away with Medicare
- Repeal Obamacare
- reform the tax code and cut taxes

Math You Do As a Republican to Make Yourself Feel Better
Possibly the greatest Jon Stewart segment ever. The complete Fox News meltdown once they learn the president had been reelected.
Weiner's Wiener
Anthony Weiner can't say for certain if the wiener posted on his Twitter page was his actual wiener or not.
Here's the pic in case anyone hasn't seen it yet.
First off, not sure if posting this results in some kind of softcore porn. Oh well. The Google bots will just have to go crazy I suppose.
What I can say is I'm not really certain if that's not a picture of my wiener even. I do have grey boxer briefs and it looks like a ribbed A-shirt (wife beater) which I've been known to wear too. Nah nothing's hanging out of the bottom of the boxer briefs so I'm certain it's not mine.
