A 2010 Republican candidate for New Mexico's 3rd Congressional Seat, Adam Kokesh, is calling for a 50-state armed rebellion against the federal government.
Kokesh is a familiar face amongst the Ron Paul Republicans. He claims to be anti-war and yet calls for an armed rebellion against the federal government. Of course, as with all Republicans, he's just mad his Party isn't in power anymore. And since they can't win at the ballot box, they must turn to violent means to ensure the rule of the GOP.
Late update:
Kokesh has called off his march on DC. He is instead insisting his followers march on their respective state capitols to force them to nullify the Union. Sounds like a cop-out to me.

Deep Thought, Paultard Edition
People who voted for Ron Paul are Republican. There's no denying this. He is a a Republican Candidate for president. He is not a Libertarian candidate or even an Independent candidate. Anyone who voted for Ron Paul pulled a Republican ballot in their state's primary. Doing so makes you a Republican legally and factually. The Paultards can deny this, cover it up or refuse to accept it but they are only kidding themselves.
Teh Revolution Ain't Over
Ron Paul will end his latest campaign for the presidency much like his previous two, packing it up while claiming victory for the movement.
“We will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted,” Paul wrote in an e-mail to supporters Monday. “Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.”
Freedom and Liberty, just so long as you vote for us.

Ron Paul Wants to Save GOP from Republicans
Ron Paul tells the Very Serious People in the mass media what he thinks is going on with his beloved Republican Party.
Whatever, my point in writing this is not to berate Paul's really screwed up ideology. It's to hit Paul, and those who think he's some kind of Revolutionary Freedom Fighter, on his messed up version of Republican roots.
Paul fantastically states, "there is no way I'm going to give up on the effort to get the Republicans back to their roots." What "roots" could he possibly be talking about?
Never in the modern history of the GOP is there any track record of shrinking government, cutting spending, ending wars, reining in the deficit or of doing anything to curtail the Federal Reserve. In fact, the only audit ever of the Federal Reserve (a longtime issue for Paul) came at the helm of an entirely Democratic-controlled Congress. It was passed solely because of Alan Grayson, of which Paul signed on. But the "root" issue Paul claims to want to return to is completely a Democratic legislative victory and has nothing to do with Paul's precious Republican Party.
The only "roots" for the GOP to return to are its widely popular platform of Equal Rights and racial equality from the second-half of the 19th century, of which Ron Paul would probably not support given that his son thinks the Civil Rights Act is unconstitutional.
“I think Republicans have dug a hole for themselves because they’re trying to out-militarize the President, saying we should do more,” he said on CBS News’ Face the Nation. “Yet 75 percent of the American people have said we’ve had enough, it’s cost us too much money, it’s time to come home.”I digress. First off, his speech is of "liberty and freedom," well, because he says it is. When President Obama draws crowds of 50,000 or more, which he's done numerous times, it's not to hear the message of "liberty and freedom." Oh no that is only for the Paultards. They are the ones who get to decide what's liberty and what's freedom. Banning all abortions and criminalizing people with vaginas, which is what Paul supports, is pure Liberty and Freedom.
[...]
“I am talking to a whole generation, which is expanding,” Paul said. “When I can get 52,000 people out on a college campus as wildly enthusiastic to hear the message of liberty and freedom and less war and curtailing the Federal Reserve, there is no way I’m going to quit speaking out on this and there is no way I’m going to give up on the effort to get the Republicans back to their roots.”

Visualizing Romney's "Safety Net" For The Poor
Contributed by Michael Bloomer while locked in a closet by his beloved wife, Sue
In a fit of what can only be viewed as overconfidence after his win in the Florida primary last week, Mitt Romney accidentally told the truth on CNN the day after his win. His signal - in every sense of the word - quote:
In his remarkable quote, too, he demonstrates what everyone on the left has known all along, and what even the right wing of the GOP is now realizing: Mitt Romney believes that the "safety net" is a good enough place to be. He simply has no informed sense that life in the safety net is desperate, heartbreaking, and usually inescapable. In this, Romney is aristocratically tempered; he's not merely tone deaf, he's stone deaf. Stone deaf to nearly 20% of the population is not a good characteristic in a United States President, particularly as we move ever closer to the edge of a revolutionary precipice.
Romney, though, is utterly astounding, in a very bad way. He's banal. Unlike Newt, there's, nothing fancy about him, nothing Gingrichian in rabidness. Unlike Paul or Santorum, Mitt's boring about the poverty thing, he simply cannot think "poor," cannot will up legitimate or sincere concern.
Wondering about that attribute the other day, I put together my image of what Romney - and the other GOP candidates - might actually conceive as a laissez faire "safety net." Gazing through the lens of their dog eat dog world view, it's a dark image indeed.

"I'm not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I'll fix it."The simple fact is, of course, that Governor Romney has endorsed draconian budget cuts that would rip that net to shreds. He also spent a great deal of time at Bain Capital as a financial finagler hatching deals that fairly often added to the "very poor" population.

Ron Paul Double Dips
The supposed fiscal saint Ron Paul double dipped on some travel reimbursements. This only means one thing, it's a conspiracy against the Revolution! to prevent Paul from from winning.
Quickies
- Ron Paul's former secretary says Paul indeed read and signed-off on every single newsletter. Anyone who believes Ron Paul didn't know the contents of newsletters printed under his name and signature until many years after they were written are only kidding themselves. In other words, you're delusional.
- If you ask me this Duke Cunningham prison endorsement of Newt Gingrich is a setup by the GOP establishment. There's no way the national party wants Gingrich to be the nominee, so what's better than leaking a personal endorsement from one of his former colleagues that is currently serving prison time for the largest congressional bribery scandal in American history?
- Fox News blames President Obama for job losses that happened when George Bush was still president. Fair & Balanced all the way.
- Republicans are now claiming Gingrich, the former highest ranking Republican in the land, is not a conservative. Good luck with that. In a way, though, they are right. Gingrich probably isn't all that conservative. He's just Republican. In that sense, Bush and Reagan weren't conservative either. They were Republican.
- Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said he’ll introduce a form of the Buffett Rule – which would require that those earning more than $1 million will pay at least 30 percent of their income in taxes – trying to capitalize on momentum stirred by President Barack Obama’s State of the Union last week. The new tax rule has wide public support, which only means one thing. The GOP will oppose it at all costs and Fox News will portray it as socialism and a redistribution of wealth.

Welfare Helps the Wealthy Says Ron Paul
I don't disagree at all with this from Ron Paul:
“So the middle class is shrinking and their [sic] losing their jobs and their [sic] losing their houses, but Wall Street isn’t getting poorer. And they are the ones who are getting the bailout. So we have to address the bailout and the system that favors a certain group over another group. If you don’t have sound money and you have a welfare state, no matter whether the welfare state is designed to help the poor, you know, the welfare system helps the wealthy.”
Welfare does indeed help the wealthy. It helps the wealthy in many ways most people don't realize, and way more in terms of real dollars. Even in ways Ron Paul omits. Or at least the American Welfare System does. And that's because we have a system fundamentally designed to see that the rich are taken care of at much higher rates than the poor.
Since 2007 alone, the federal government has spent trillions propping up the wealthy. This is nothing other than welfare. For the last decade the federal government has cut taxes disproportionately to favor the wealthy, subsidized their professions, and allowed for very wealthy bosses to mismanage their companies into the ground all the while still receiving hundreds of billions in welfare payments that helped pay their bonuses and golden parachutes. This is all welfare. And we as a society have spent way more money subsidizing rich people than we ever have the poor.
I don't think this is necessarily what Ron Paul was saying, nor do I think he would necessarily disagree with it either. But yes, welfare does help the wealthy. That's the whole problem nobody wants to talk about.

Ron Paul Moves to Repeal Indefinite Detention
I'm sure this bill is going nowhere in Congress, but Ron Paul should be applauded for doing this.
"Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) introduced legislation to the U.S House on Wednesday that would repeal Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012.
The $662 billion defense spending bill contained controversial provisions, Sections 1021 and 1022, that required terrorism suspects to be detained by the military without trial, regardless of where they were captured.
Proponents of the bill claimed it merely clarified existing law, but human rights advocates and others said the provisions were unconstitutional and allowed the military detention of American citizens without trial."

- Rick Santorum says he's the only person that will talk about the dangers of contraception in this country as he again voiced his support for states being able to outlaw birth control. Atrios has a good point about this. Essentially, Atrios says, the whole abortion debate is really more to do about controlling sexual encounters/practices than about controlling the number of abortions. I think that's true. I'll add, though, that it's not just about controlling sexual practices but nothing short of another sad, sorry version of legislating what Republicans believe to be morality. Their perceived morality for others that is.
- Did you know growth takes time?
- Steve Benen makes a good point. Not one single Republican candidate is talking about George Bush. It's almost like he never existed. There's obvious reasons for this. He's pathetically unpopular. He left office with the lowest approval rating in history. He turned over a country that had almost collapsed. There just isn't much to want to invoke from his 8 years. The flip side of this is Democrats are not ashamed one bit to talk up Clinton or even Obama. Returning to Bush policies now would be disastrous-- again.
- The best summation of Ron Paul I've read yet.
- And let me stress again, I'm glad Ron Paul is running for president. He's talking a lot about things Democrats, liberals and progressives have supposedly cared about for years but done very little at achieving once in power. So, yeah, I'm glad to see him running.
Conspire to Out Conspire
How's this for Mr. Consistency?
The one candidate in the race who is supposed to be solid as a oak, never faltering or swaying on his stances, who has been beating the same political drum for decades without any inconsistencies, who is always standing up for Liberty and Freedom and never panders to any base or media establishment, gets confronted with the fact that one of his prized supporters and endorsers is a bona-fide homophob that believes we should use the death penalty against homosexuals and what's he do? He wipes it all clean from his website of course. Down the Memory Hole it goes!
Anyone who claims Ron Paul is a steadfast man of principles and ideas is a liar. He's a typical Republican hack that panders just like every politician in the world. His supporters, though, will claim that Paul knew nothing about his once proudly-touted supporter's right wing platform and that anyone who brings it up is only conspiring to stop Ron Paul because they fear the Freedom and Liberty he will unleash upon America. Remember everything in their world is a conspiracy. Him trying to cover up his extremist views is no different.

Ron Paul Cares Nothing About Liberty or Truth
A note about one of my Ron Paul posts below. In it I write that it is possible Ron Paul never read his newsletters. I wrote the post days before I knew anything about Andrew Kaczynski and all the videos and articles he has uncovered demonstrating Ron Paul definitely read his newsletters. He may not have written them but he knew their content and he bragged about them and made lots of money publishing them.
Again, I'll say issues alone are enough to not vote for Ron Paul. His newsletter, of which he had to know of their content, are just padding for the Paultards to bounce their heads from.
And just for fodder, the many conspiracy theories Paul subscribes to or invents are what his many followers think make him some sort of one man truth-seeking-justice-league. He's anything but and is more inline with wackos like Alex Jones and other people who hate America. This Ron Paul classic video of him speaking at the extremely right wing, racists and conspiracy-funded John Birch Society is plenty to keep him from ever being taken seriously ever again. Well, except by his brainless followers who seemingly think they are always smarter and more informed than everyone in the world. It's videos like this that convince them they are so smart.

Racist Newsletters Distract From Real Issues
There's a lot of very important and very easy things to hit Ron Paul on other than his newsletters from the 80s. His insistence the Bill of Rights, Social Security and Medicare (to name a few) are all unconstitutional and as president he would destroy all of them is enough to not vote for him. It's also enough for the media to have a heyday without having to keep stooping to the racist newsletters that he more than likely didn't write, didn't read and has disavowed hundreds of times. Him walking out on a CNN interview today because, once again, the newsletters were brought up is silly on his part and irresponsible on the part of the media.
Focus on the issues. Do Americans really want Social Security destroyed. Do they really want Medicare ended? Do they want $1 trillion cut from the federal budget in one year? Do they want child labor to once again become the norm in America? Issues do matter and there are plenty to talk about when you're interviewing someone who thinks America in 2013 should look more like it in 1865.

Ron Paul Will Need To Do Way More Than Win Iowa
Yesterday The Fold Blog made a huge astronomical prediction that Ron Paul will be victorious in the Iowa caucus early next month. Judging from some emails it seems the term "victory" as used in the post was confusing.
By victory do I mean he'll finish first? Or runner up? After all a second place finish in Iowa is a huge victory for Paul who has been written off a thousand times already. Well, I don't know what I meant by using the word victory. I suppose I meant he'll be victorious. Though I don't think that clears anything up. So I'll come right out and say that The Fold Blog believes Ron Paul will win the Iowa caucus. I hope that clears up the confusion.
After winning Iowa, I don't see him doing anything else. He's just not that popular and his ideas for this country are even less popular than him. His campaign has put millions into Iowa and have worked up a really good ground game. Plus caucuses are perfect for really loud supporters. People who are more passionate about their candidate are extra likely to draw others to their side of the room. This is, after all, how a caucus works. Paul stands a really good chance of having very loud supporters screaming at others to come join their Liberty Revolution!
The rest of the early primary states Paul is way less popular. South Carolina he's currently polling in third place at about 9%. New Hampshire, he's in third place as well. And in Florida he's at a very distant third with 8%. All those states are much larger than Iowa and are primary states, which means-- if I'm not mistaken-- GOP rules weigh primary states more than caucus states. Paul would have to finish much better in SC, FL and NH than single digits if he even stands at chance at the nomination.
It's entirely possible to win Iowa and then the next week lose New Hampshire, the week after that lose South Carolina and then the week after that lose Florida and be finished. That means by February, unless he manages a couple second place finishes after Iowa, Ron Paul will stand no chance at the nomination once again. In fact, winning Iowa is not that great of a bellwether for the GOP nomination. Take a look at past results:
1980: George H. W. Bush won Iowa with 32%. Reagan won nomination despite losing Iowa.
1988: Bob Dole won Iowa with 37% . George H. W. Bush won nomination even though he finished third in Iowa.
2008: Mike Huckabee won Iowa huge with 34%. John McCain won nomination even though he finished 4th in Iowa with only 13%.
Of course if Paul does win Iowa, the Paultards will claim that this is proof he should be the nominee and that they are being screwed out of the coronation by a vast conspiracy contrived by the media, the GOP itself, Barack Obama, Big Government and people who hate freedom. Even though history shows people win Iowa and lose the nomination all the time, it won't matter to them. It all will be one big conspiracy against Freedom Fighter Ron Paul.

Quickies-- TFB Makes Bold Prediction
- Not that I'm advocating more drone use but I do find it comical that a group of supposedly "sovereign citizens" in North Dakota were arrested with the help of a remote-controlled drone. Nothing says 'you aren't sovereign' quite like a predator drone in your backyard.
- In the 90s, as a reaction to prove just how immoral and engulfed the Clinton White House was with drugs and other debauchery, then Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich proposed the death penalty for marijuana related crimes.
- Speaking of Newt's unblemished morality, he signed a pledge from a wacko Iowa conservative group to not cheat on his third wife like he did his first two. He also promised to uphold what he called the "sanctity" of marriage by pledging not to allow gays to desecrate the union of marriage. I would wager $10 grand on the fact that Newt promised his first two wives he would be faithful as well. He broke those promises with relative ease.
- Right wing fearmonger and hate radio host, Michael Savage, has offered Fruity Newty an easy $1 million to drop out of the race within the next three days.
- And, finally, my prediction for the Iowa caucus is a victory for Ron Paul. That's right, I think Newt will implode, Romney will get lost in Jackson County Missouri looking for the Garden of Eden and Paul will win.
Quickies
- Took the day off yesterday to tend to sick twin boys. Even though the weather was crappy and the boys weren't feeling well, still had a pretty good day spending time with the wife and kids.
- Over the weekend Herman Cain decided to drop out of the race. I don't care what terminology he uses to define his exit, he's out. He can call it a suspension or a time out, or claim he was acting on advice from God like he does everything else. He's delusional and narcissistic. Luckily for him The Fold Blog refuses to accept that he's quitting. Oh no, he is the standard bearer of a very quacked out Republican Party.
- Yesterday Big Love Mitt Romney changed his mind on supporting an extension for the payroll tax cuts. He'll probably change his mind again before the day is over so I don't know why I'm even spending time on it.
- It seems too that Big Love Romney was so worried about his records as Governor from going public that he spent $100,000 of tax payer money to replace all the computers in his office. If the old computers were destroyed, which I don't know, I'm sure that's a felony.
- I get this feeling that Ron Paul really doesn't like Newt Gingrich.
Kucinich Wants the Fed Gone
Democrat Dennis Kucinich has put forth a bill that would effectively END THE FED.
Know what this means? He's a Crazy, Left Wing, Liberal, Tree Hugging Hippy that Hates America. He should let Ron Paul propose the bill that way it will be a Freedom Fighting, America Loving, Patriotic Liberty thing to do.

Kucinich the Evil Liberal Hippy America Hater
OH NO Rep. Dennis Kucinich just said the Federal Reserve controls our nation and must be reformed!! Since he's a Democrat that means he's a left wing hippy lover that isn't Serious about America. If only he were a Republican like Ron Paul he could easily become a Very Serious Libertarian fighting for Liberty for saying the very same things. Alas, though, such Freedom Fighting labeling only gets applied to Republicans.
