Conveniently, Fox News' on-air version of Jon Stewart's interview with Chris Wallace left out a key piece of criticism. Namely the mention of emails from managing editor Bill Sammon directing his staff to slant the news according to Republican talking points. For instance, Sammon wrote in one email to his staff that candidate Barack Obama advocated socialism. He also instructed his staff via email to use the term "government option," a common Republican talking point, instead of "public option" during the 2009 health care reform debate.
The emails are a sore subject with Fox News and it's very possible people who watch Fox News have never even heard of the leaked emails. When they are mentioned, Fox simply edits it out. Their existence is washed down the memory hole forever. It's just like it never happened.
