Quickies-- Debt Ceiling Fraud Edition

  • You know it's all over when Republicans start using Democratic talking points to define the debate.
"President Obama is holding the full faith and credit of the United States hostage so he can continue his spending spree," said Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN)
Hostage has long been a keyword of Democrats to describe the current GOP play on the debt ceiling.

  • Their use of the word hostage reminds me how they also tried to say McCain was the real change candidate in 2008. Yes the crusty old white man was the candidate of change is what they wanted everyone to believe. It's what they do, they steal.
  • Texas-- land of the so-called conservative Republican economic model-- has seen its debt grow 281% in less than 10 years.
  • Gallup says only 1 in 5 Americans agree with the GOP on the debt ceiling negotiations. In fact, Gallup says 74% of Republicans don't even agree with the GOP's stance that deficit reduction should only come from spending cuts. In plain English that means Americans overwhelmingly support raising taxes and spending cuts for deficit reduction.
  • Last but not least, President Obama is reported to have had enough and says he will not yield and for lawmakers to have a deal put together by Friday. In plain English, WINNING!
Winning!
