111th Keeps on Giving

Someone smarter than me might say that if the Democrats in charge of the 111th Congress had governed with their agenda before the lame duck session of 2010 they might have been able to hold onto their majority in the House or at least narrowed their losses.  It's a novel idea I know.

Since the beginning of December Democrats have enjoyed an up-tick in approval from the public.  A smart person might say it's because they are actually doing something people support.  Repealing DADT was very popular.  Ratifying START was as well.  And 56% approve of how the president has advanced the lame duck session.  Doing what you were elected to do can be popular if not an empowering phenomenon.

Knowing full well things turn on a dime, Democrats should at least take this Holiday Season to bask in a slight array of good accomplishments.  Just don't get too comfortable cause nothing is forever.  And January is right around the corner.
