More Proof Why Our Primary Process is Terrible

So I guess Rick Santorum won Iowa.  This is probably information we could have used on Jan. 3rd.  Or probably not.  In 2008 Huckabee won Iowa and that did nothing for him.  Bob Dole won it in '88 and it proved very little in justifying his campaign to Republican voters.  Given that head-count caucusing is error-prone and a terrible way to begin a presidential cycle for a country of 310 million people, why can't we stop with the nonsense and begin utilizing a primary system that actually means something?

I know, I'm asking way too much.
