Hope and Change

I think a lot of times the Obama rhetoric of Hope and Change too often gets taken out of context.  I hope no one expected that just because we elected our first black president that everything in America would be great.  Surely no one is that naive.  Likewise, Republicans like to paint the meaning of Hope and Change as being all-encompassing as meaning within 4 years America would be experiencing the greatest awesomeness ever.  Much to their chagrin, that was never the message, the promise or the intention.

Hope and Change has simply always been exactly what it says.  And anyone who tries to deny that things have changed and that such change brings greater hope to millions is ignoring a reality that long ago passed them by. Noticeably the people who complain the most about not enough Hope and Change are the one's who didn't vote for Obama in the first place.  In other words, the people who didn't want Hope and Change are now complaining there hasn't been enough.

Of course their Hope and Change is far different from the Hope and Change the picture below exemplifies.  I'll take that change any day.
