Worst Speech Ever

I somehow tortured myself into watching Mittens' acceptance speech last night.  It was so excruciating that I decided to go back and read what I wrote about McCain's in 2008 before I did any writing this time.  It turns out, I didn't write anything because I probably didn't watch it.

Alrighty, some of my highlights of Romney's very boring speech.

• Implied President Obama prefers talking with dictators instead of being super-tough guy and taking them head on.  Qaddafi anyone?  It's a good thing Obama is so weak on evil dictators or Qaddafi would still be in power.

• Possibly the dumbest line in any speech ever given: “President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans — and to heal the planet. My promise is to help you and your family.”  What does that even mean?  Climate change has nothing to do with families?  Or, who can possibly say that a president that has given greater access to health care for 32 million Americans doesn't care about families?  Just a very bad horrible line for a wannabe-presidential speech. 

• "Under my administration, our friends will see more loyalty, and Mr. Putin will see a little less flexibility and more backbone.”  Hello 1950!  Dude the cold war is over.  This is more implication of how the GOP lives in the past and refuses reality.  Outlaw birth control, limit voting rights for minorities, deny science, legislate the Bible, engage the Soviets!
