It appears my first real disagreement with the Obama administration is going to come about because of Joe Lieberman. I've made it known that I have no real use for the man. He can be senator all day long, I really don't care about that. But having him in a leadership role is insulting to loyal Democrats who worked hard for the new Obama administration, and to the American people who overwhelmingly elected the Democratic Party to run their government.
Joe Lieberman is no longer a Democrat. He caucuses with them but he is not a member of the Party. He was voted out as a representative member of the DNC in the 2006 primary by Democratic voters. He is a self nominated Independent member of the Senate. If in the least, let him remain in the caucus but take his chairmanship away from him.
Some are saying Obama is going to keep him on as chairman because he wants to encourage bipartisanship or that he doesn't want to make Lieberman a GOP martyr. Whatever the case, keeping Lieberman on isn't bipartisanship because Lieberman isn't a Republican. If he had switched to the Republican Party it would be a different story. But he didn't. He's what some people would call a whore and what others would call a coward but he is certainly not worthy of a leadership role in the next session.
