Obama Resigns Illinois Senate Seat

My Senator, President-elect Barack Obama officially resigned his U.S. Senate seat on Sunday. I'm actually glad to see him go since he will of course be taking over the White House. Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich will get to select his replacement who will serve until 2010. Gov. Blagojevich, being one of the most unpopular governors in Illinois history, will probably take his time and I wouldn't put it past him to select himself. My choice for Obama's replacement is State Senator Kwame Raoul.
