Getting lost in this week's shuffle is Republican South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford once again referencing God's will in hopes to defend against calls for his resignation.
"God can use imperfect people to perform his will."
Sure thing Marky Mark.
Sanford also used a classic Republican manuever to question people's faith. They do the same with patriotism too. 'If you actually believe in America then you'll support such and such, if you don't you must not be a patriot.' Except this time Sanford uses for it religion and to justify his administration.
"If you believe in this process of redemption, repentance, hope, and growth, then you've got to stay around for the second part of the show."
In other words, if you truly believe in God and the Bible, you'll allow me to remain as governor since God has forgiven me and is now using me-- imperfect and all-- to perform his will. Sanford is led by God in a Walk we all envy. Question him or his Walk With God and you are going against the very will of God Almighty.
