Utah is about to make abstinence-only sex education the only legal form of sex education in the entire state. The bill would outlaw teaching sex education in public schools that doesn't teach the only method is abstinence.
Normally Republicans rally against public education saying it's unconstitutional or that it's just another form of Big Government. If Democrats passed a bill that said all forms of sex education must be taught in public schools, Republicans would whine and cry about Big Government Democrats wanting to enforce liberal conspiracies on our children. But when Republicans use the very same government, the very same legislative means, the very same democratic process to force their perceived morality onto the public it's okay. In fact there's no complaints at all about Big Government or tyrannical takeovers when Republicans do it. And that's simply because Republicans don't believe what they do as being anything but God's Will of small government, liberty-loving Americanism.
