Romney Learned to Be American from His Mexican Father Who Sent Him to France to Avoid Military Service

Let's be brash just for a second.  When Gov. Sununu says that while Obama was young and a community organizer that he worked in a "socialized structure," and when he says that President Obama needs to "learn how to be an American."  And when Mittens Romney says the president's upbringing (his course) is "extraordinarily foreign" what they are saying is that the President of the United States is not American.

There's no sugar coating it.  Republicans at the highest levels do not believe the President to be a genuine American.  He's a socialist foreigner that wants to remake the country into an image that is nothing like our Glorious past.  This is their party's platform.  This is the main issue they want to use to vote him out of office. 

Now here's the dumbest part.

Mitt Romney whose real first name is Willard is a product of polygamy and a member of a church that actually waged war against the American government.  His grandfather had numerous of wives.  His family illegally immigrated from Mexico to the United States.  His very own father was born in Mexico.  He is by the precise definition of the term a Mexican-American.  Mittens grew up wealthy where his Mexican father was a lifelong politician running for every office imaginable.  During his youth he fled to France to avoid service in the Vietnam War, where he lived in a mansion, learned to speak French, had his own personal chef and a butler.  Honestly, how American is that?

Mitt is Mexican-American, belongs to a church that waged war against the American government, faithfully believes the Garden of Eden is in Missouri, that God lives on Planet Kolob, fled to France to avoid serving in the military ( a war he cheered on by the way), and has numerous foreign bank accounts stashed with millions of dollars to avoid paying taxes in America and him and the GOP want to call the President of the United States un-American?  That's just how dumb it all is. 

There is every bit of evidence to suggest that because of Mitt Romney's life he is not a real American.  That his "course is extraordinarily foreign," that he needs to "learn to be an American."  That he needs to quit hiding his fortune in foreign accounts and keep it in the country that he claims to love.  But it would be so stupid, so cowardly to suggest such a thing.  And I'm glad Democrats and the President have not went to such depths.  Yet doing that very cowardly thing is exactly what the GOP is doing to our president.  It's what they've done at least since 2007 with Obama.  They have no morals, no souls.  They are hungry for power and would rather destroy the country than not be in charge of it.

A group of people led by a guy whose family illegally immigrated from Mexico to the United States, who believes Adam & Eve lived in Missouri, who ran and hid in France to avoid military service, who keeps his millions in foreign accounts to avoid paying American taxes is enthusiastically and systematically calling someone else un-American.  It's insane.

Does Sununu Really Want to Bring Up Youth and Patriotism?

This morning Romney supporter Republican John Sununu went on Fox News to blast President Obama's decisions with recreational drugs as a teen and his time as a child overseas to suggest the president needs to learn how to be an American.

Let's see here.  The president-- going back over two decades now-- has routinely admitted to past drug use as a teenager and college student.  Something about half of all people have done themselves.  It's also extremely well known he spent time in a foreign country as a child, a situation in which he had no control because he was after all a child.  This means he needs to learn to be American?

As a child Willard Romney grew up wealthy, the son of a longtime politician.  As a teen and college student, he simultaneously spent his days cheering on the war in Vietnam and dodging the draft.  When he was of prime fighting age, and during a time when his country needed him the most, he fled to France and spent his days living in a mansion valued today at $12 million.

Here's how fellow Mittens Mormon described the French estate:

Although he spent time in other French cities, for most of 1968, Mr Romney lived in the Mission Home, a 19th century neoclassical building in the French capital’s chic 16th arrondissement. “It was a house built by and for rich people,” said Richard Anderson, the son of the mission president at the time of Mr Romney’s stay. “I would describe it as a palace”.

The only thing Republicans hate worse than Democrats are the French.  Does the Romney Campaign really want to talk about time spent as a youth and who is more American?

I'm not the biggest fan of Ed Schultz.  I've spoken to him a few times and even in conversations he can get a little gruff.  He does have a point, however.  Especially in his latest segment where he Frenchifies Mitt Romney.

It is true, instead of fighting for his country in Vietnam, a time when his country needed him most, Mittens ran to France and hid from military service.  While in France he lived in a palace where he brushed up on his French and learned the Book of Mormon.  Prior to fleeing to France, a 19 year old Romney participated in a pro-war demonstration at Standford.  The demonstration was to mock the sissy anti-war hippies and show their support for military action in Vietnam.  Romney was a lean 19 year old of perfect fighting age at a time when his country had hundreds of thousands of men fighting in the jungles in the very war he was marching to support.  Romney went to France to live in a palace, learn French and study a book that taught him Eden is in Missouri.  Chickenhawk.

But now Mitt Romney is the leader of the Republican Party.  The Endless War fighting party. The party responsible for letting bin Laden escape and for lying America into Iraq.  He's the tough guy in this race.  Watch and see because Fox News and the GOP will do their best to paint Mittens as the handsome, square-jawed, youthful, decider.  Republicans love this stuff. Just look at war-dodger Reagan.

Want to know how a guy who believes the Garden of Eden is in Missouri and that God lives on Planet Kolob is the Republican nominee for president?  

CNN reports Big Love Romney spent $76.6 million on the primary.  Including his Super PACS, he spent $122 million.  That's more than his 3 opponents combined.  The guy has a whole lot more to spend too.  He's personally worth over a quarter billion and his 38 largest donors who have already given millions, have even deeper pockets.  

Romney is Hoping the media totally rewrites history

Big Love Mitt Romney's Campaign had this to say on Thursday concerning the economy:

“The fact that it [the economy] struggled through the last three years is not the fault of Barack Obama’s predecessor, it’s the fault of this administration and the failure of their policies to really get this economy going again,” he said.Fehrnstrom said that Obama “cannot take any credit for any success on the jobs front.” “None at all,” he added.

As I noted yesterday, that's quite retarded for a political campaign to suggest.  Let's imagine this if you will.  The standard the Romney Campaign demands the president be held to is one of complete failure.  Even though facts suggest differently, Republicans don't care.  Even though the Obama administration has witnessed more job creation in one year than Bush had in 8 years doesn't matter.  Even though the Dow is up 85% since Obama took over, it too doesn't matter.  Even though the budget deficit is smaller now than what Obama inherited doesn't matter.  Even though the nation has witnessed continued economic growth with 3 straight years of positive GDP numbers, matters none at all. 

But the only way none of those facts matter is if we adopt a complete lie and never question it.  That's what the GOP is Hoping.  It's their only chance at taking back the White House.  They tried the same thing in 2008.  They tried then to divert attention away from the facts by suggesting the fundamentals of our economy were strong; by never once mentioning George Bush.  Currently the media is letting the GOP get away with it this time.  For the sake of the country's survival, let's all Hope that changes.

One of the ways rank and file Republicans will try to explain away Romney's lies about the size and scope of the crisis Obama inherited not mattering at all is by saying all Romney is only merely saying that Obama hasn't done what he said he would do, which is rebuild America. 

But that's not what the Romney campaign is saying at all.  They are not saying that it's Obama's economy to fix, which would be a true statement.  What Romney is saying is a far cry from that.  They are saying it doesn't matter what situation he inherited, or the fact that things are better now, because Obama gets no credit for the job creation and the economic improvements.  That's exactly what Romney's campaign is saying.  Read it again cause it's plain as day:  “The fact that it [the economy] struggled through the last three years is not the fault of Barack Obama’s predecessor, it’s the fault of this administration and the failure of their policies to really get this economy going again,” he said.Fehrnstrom said that Obama “cannot take any credit for any success on the jobs front.” “None at all,” he added.

That's their only Hope.  The economy George Bush destroyed gets no blame.  The economic success of the last 3 years gets no credit.  It's Hope and Change Republican style.  Hope the media buys into their lies and then they can Change things back to the way they were when Bush was president.  Nobody wants that.  But if voters don't start paying attention that's what will happen.

God Has Ended Rick Santorum's Campaign

God spoke to Rick Santorum this morning and told him to pack it up.  As always, Rick obliged.

In other news, there was no way Santorum was going to win his home state of Pennsylvania on April 24th.  Chances are he was going to lose it even worse than his 2006 senate reelection, which he did by more than 20 points.

Bring Out the Fat Lady

Illinois is known as maybe one of the more liberal states.  We certainly have a huge world class city and prestigious universities.  But Illinois is also one of the leading farm producing states, has a huge rural population and has a southern region that is 90% farther south than the whole of Kentucky; and used to be solidly Republican until about 1964.  As you might have guessed, Illinois was more Republican when the GOP was the more liberal party.  That means even our Republican voters are slightly more liberal than what you would consider to be mainstream Republicans.  Suffice to say it's not all that surprising that a former Governor from the most liberal state in the Union, who is a very successful Wall St. investor that can outspend his nearest opponent 7:1 and who enacted what would we become the model for President Obama's (also from Illinois) health care reform won the state's primary rather handily.

If I remember correctly, Santorum's next big stand is Louisiana or something like that.  But it really doesn't matter.  Romney's solid win in the fifth biggest state, his unlimited supply of money and his huge lead in delegates practically seals the deal.  This is a one man show from here to maybe June.  Or maybe the convention in August.  But that's only because Santorum and Gingrich can't bear not seeing themselves on teevee.

I think something else that is quite noticeable from yesterday's results in Alabama is that 64% of Republicans voted against Mitt Romney as their nominee.  That's huge.  And consider Mississippi where yet another 64% did the same thing.  Mitt didn't just lose two solidly Republican states.  He got crushed. 

In the delegate count, because he won Hawaii and the colony of Samoa (we let our subjects vote), he came out ahead for the day.  That's all fine and dandy and might be his only saving grace.  That being said, two very Republican states that have voted solidly Republican since 1964-- even McCain had no problems there in 2008-- rejected him by a 2/3 margin.  That has to say something about just how much base Republicans don't like him.

I'll also reiterate, Republicans will still show up to vote for him just like they did McCain and Dole.  The base comes home.  I see nothing to suggest anything else.  Excitement and motivation just won't be anywhere to be found. 

Someone Has a Base Problem

For some reason I have a special fondness for Alabama.  I can't explain it.  It's just there.  So I took a look at the exit polls from yesterday's primary and it has every indication of a dying party.

Check this out:

• 27% of Republican voters for Alabama are over the age of 65.
• 59% are over the age of 50.
• 94% are white.
• 75% consider themselves to be white evangelical born again.
• 62% support the Tea Baggers.

Not only is it dying, it really doesn't like Mitt Romney.  Yet, hidden in the data, there's a good indicator for Mitt Romney that Republicans will come home and vote Republican no matter who the nominee is.

Will You Vote for GOP Nominee in November?

Definitely-- 81%
Probably-- 10%
Only if....-- 7%

That means 91% say they will probably still vote Republican even if Mitt Romney is the nominee. That's good news for Mitt. Just another reason not to believe all the hype about Republicans not coming home.  They will.  They always do.

Republicans Really Don't Like Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney took a beating last night from the Republican Party's most ardent supporters by losing the primaries in Alabama and Mississippi.  It's actually worse than that, though.  Not only did he lose, he got third in both states.

Romney Slogs Along

Mitt Romney just might be the most unpopular eventual nominee in history.

• Rick Santorum won Oklahoma, Tennessee, and held his own in Ohio.
• Fruity Newty Gingrich won his home state of Georgia.
• Ron Paul has not one single victory in this primary season.  He even lost North Dakota yesterday.
• All four candidates claim they are not dropping out and will continue with the "Anybody But Mitt" election season.

Quickies

• Romney had a good night.
• According to the delegate count, Newt should dropout now.  And After Super Tuesday Santorum should too.
• Despite what Rick Santorum says about gas prices causing the housing bubble burst, facts and reality prove him completely wrong.
• A quick reminder, again, that Barack Obama is a great campaigner.  It's true Republicans have a very short memory, and it's true they lie about history all the time and create false fantasy worlds to reconcile their disregard for facts, but have Republicans really forgotten that he draws extremely large crowds and raises money like no one in the history of American politics?  The quick answer is yes they have forgotten.  They refuse to believe it actually.  They think the crowds are brought in by busing in homeless people and paying people to show up.  They also think his campaign is financed by one person and one person alone, George Soros. They're insane.

• Sean Trende at Real Clear Politics says Romney's good night increases the chances of a brokered convention and means the race will drag on for a couple more months before Santorum, Paul and Gingrich drop out.  Let's remember, I've been wrong about this whole primary so anyone's guess is better than mine.

Let's also remember Obama hasn't even started campaigning yet for 2012.  Romney has been campaigning non-stop since 2007.

This can only mean one thing for Republicans, though.  Barack Obama just isn't popular.

Long Gone Are the Ideas

Former Republican Presidential Candidate Jon Huntsman:

“Gone are the days where the Republican party used to put forward big, bold visionary stuff.”

Those days are way long gone.  There's no way the GOP could ever lead with something as huge and monumental as the Interstate Highway System as they did in the 1950s.  No way any of that could ever happen now.  But their lack of 21st century vision didn't just come to a halt in 2012.  The modern GOP (since 1981 with Reagan) has done nothing but grow government, increase spending, create huge budget deficits and added trillions to the federal debt.  They are the Party of Big Government and fiscal irresponsibility.

It's not that they don't have any ideas, it's that their ideas and visions for this country are barbaric and belong in a time capsule that was sealed long ago.  They want to legislate the Bible.  Impose Biblical standards on the country and lead with a warped ideology that tells them they are the lone remaining Patriots in America.  Just a short list of their ideas and visions:

• More tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans
• Keep us fighting an Endless War in Iraq
• Allow insurance companies to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions
• Outlaw birth control
• Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage
• Constitutional Amendment banning abortion
• Eliminate Medicare, Social Security and unemployment benefits or in the very least privatize them
• Destroy unions
• Impose self-perceived morality on the whole country
• No Separation of Church and State

There's no decency among them.  They are a childish group that believes anyone that doesn't vote and believe the way they do are enemies of the country.

Maine Was Rigged, No Doubts About It

I don't think you can look at the 2012 Maine caucus and conclude anything other than the establishment GOP rigged the election for Mitt Romney.

Why Republican Morale Is Low

When your party is rigging elections so this guy can be your nominee, it would have to be demoralizing.

“This week, President Obama will release a budget that won’t take any meaningful steps toward solving our entitlement crisis.  The president has failed to offer a single serious idea to save Social Security and is the only president in modern history to cut Medicare benefits for seniors”.

ON WHAT PLANET DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?  Obama has failed to solve a perceived spending crisis by cutting spending????  I'd be demoralized too if this was the best my party had to offer.

GOP Voter Fraud: It's Way Worse Than Fox News Wants To Tell You

Due to fudging votes, Mitt Romney was declared the winner of the Iowa caucus at the beginning of the year.  Turns out, he actually lost that race.  Now we have our second election in as many months where the establishment GOP could be responsible for some tampering and/or sleazy maneuvering.

GOP End Is Near?

I'm so terrible at this stuff, I don't even know why I try.

Here's what I thought would happen.  I thought Ron Paul would win Iowa.  Romney would win New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida and by February the Maine primary would officially seal Romney as the nominee.  Instead, Santorum won Iowa, Romney did win NH but Newt Gingrich cleared out an epic upset to win SC.  And, today at least, it appears Gingrich is set to win Florida. Currently that means there has been a different winner in each Republican contest so far.  Three elections, three different winners.  This can only mean one thing, right?  End of the world for the GOP.  Hardly.

The GOP will survive this primary season.  They will unite behind a candidate and they will vote to oust the president.  I don't think they will succeed but like I said at the beginning I'm terrible at this stuff.  Anything can happen I suppose.  But if Republicans are good at anything it's maintaining unity.

A look at the remaing calendar easily shows this race could go all the way through Super Tuesday and maybe through March.  I'll also add, there's nothing wrong with that at all.

Feb. 4-- Maine, Nevada
Feb. 7-- Colorado, Minnesota
Feb. 28-- AZ, MI
March 3-- Washington
March 6 (Super Tuesday)-- AK, GA, ID, MA, ND, OH, OK, TN, VT, VA, WY

Aside from Nevada and Arizona, Feb. 4th, 7th and 28th look safe for Romney.  That means it's still his race to lose.  Instances where that is still applicable are getting further and further from being true, however.
