Can't Wait for More War

Chickenhawk war hero and neoconservative "thinker" Michael Ledeen calls Secretary of State Condi Rice's speech at the UN yesterday an "embarrassment."
It's an embarrassment. Once upon a time, we had leaders who supported freedom and did everything possible to bring down tyrants. But not today. Today we give feel-good speeches full of politically correct slogans, wrapped in the mantle of multiculturalism and multilateralism. Even her words are feeble.
Once upon a time people who so advocated war actually fought in them. Who in the world is Ledeen even referring to when he says we had leaders who supported freedom and brought down tyrants? In his fantasy world he's thinking Ronald Reagan. But what tyrant did Reagan bring down? Other than both Bush's I can't think of a president since Roosevelt that has fought a war and removed a tyrant.

What Ledeen is really upset about is there's too much talking going on. He needs war and bombs and other people fighting and dying to feel safe. Despite being prime fighting age during the calling of his generation, Vietnam, Ledeen instead chickened out and took multiple college deferments so he could get a PhD. Yet war without end is what's necessary to keep this country safe. He's upset that Condi Rice isn't following through with her "feeble" threats. Invading Iran, Syria and any country that might not support our neoconservative agenda of preventive invasion has become the battle cry of the chickenhawk right wing Republican Party led by the likes of draft dodging Michael Ledeen. War, glorious war, will solve all our problems.
Mugabe is committing mass murder, and has proclaimed that he won't accept the results of the election if it goes against him. So her call for "free and fair" elections is beside the point. It's just like the bad old days when the League of Nations fought fascism...while innocents are slaughtered.
Of course the innocents being slaughtered in his war without end world are everyone else but him. His nice cozy armchair will be safe just as long as everyone else is fighting and dying.
