I have absolutely no sympathy for Julian Assange. If you knowingly publish material that a government may find to be secret, you're taking your chances. But he is not a terrorist and he is not a traitor since he isn't even an American. But stupidity is not something the current crop of GOP leaders have went a day without. Exhibit A, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell:
"I think the man is a high-tech terrorist," McConnell said. "He's done enormous damage to our country, and I think he needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and if that becomes a problem, we need to change the law. It's done enormous damage to our country and to our allies around the world."
What an idiot. Change the law so we can prosecute someone Mitch McConnell doesn't like. How's that for small government conservatism?
