But that didn't stop the Program on International Policy Attitudes from proving what many of us already know, Fox News viewers love being lied to.
The study by PIPA discovered:
Those who watched Fox News almost daily were significantly more likely than those who never watched it to believe that:Naturally Fox News cast aside anyone who questions their content as being NOT Very Serious Americans. A top senior vice president at Fox mentioned that the university where the study was conducted just also happens to be a party school.
* Most economists estimate the stimulus caused job losses.
* Most economists have estimated the health care law will worsen the deficit.
* The economy is getting worse.
* Most scientists do not agree that climate change is occurring.
* The stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts.
* Their own income taxes have gone up.
* The auto bailout only occurred under Obama.
* When TARP came up for a vote most Republicans opposed it.
* And that it is not clear that Obama was born in the United States.
The latest Princeton Review ranked the University of Maryland among the top schools for having 'Students Who Study The Least' and being the 'Best Party School' - given these fine academic distinctions, we'll regard the study with the same level of veracity it was 'researched' with."As if the undergraduate body at UM has anything to do with the study. But according to Fox News it invalidates the entire thing. For those who actually want their media station to tell the truth, News Hounds makes note that UM actually ranks among the best colleges in the Northeast and is number 19 on the list of party schools. Number 19?? That's not a party school.
But the best proof of all that Fox News is a Very Serious news organization that wants its viewers to be well-informed on topics that are important to the world happened yesterday when Fox brought in world renowned international relations and foreign policy expert Jon Voight to dismantle President Obama's START treaty with Russia. Yes, Jon Voight the actor. You know the guy who has never spent a second of his life doing any sort of work in the realm of anything outside of Hollywood. But he votes Republican and that's all that matters to Fox News in order to qualify someone as an expert in everything under the sun.
