Just shy of his record-setting 3rd quarter, President Obama and the Democrats raised a huge $68 million for the final quarter of 2011.
The fourth quarter amount brings the 2011 total to over $200 million. The most ever for a non-election year.
Of the $68 million raised, $44 million was by the Obama campaign. $24 million was raised by the DNC.
In perspective, GOP front-runner Mitt Romney's campaign raised $24 million for the quarter. The president nearly doubled that number. Ron Paul raised only $13 million.
