Don't Let the Door Hit Ya

Sad, sad day for right wing extremists.  Also a sad day for The Fold Blog anytime a Batshit Crazy Republican calls it quits.

Why Bachmann Really Had to Pull Out of the Race

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice-President chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

The Congress may determine the Time of chusing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
------

Notice, too, that at the time of writing "a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution," meant only land-owning white men.  Black people were not citizens.  And women were merely second-class citizens who could neither hold office nor vote, as evidenced by the constant use of the male pronouns.

None of this original language of the Constitution has been changed.  We simply use our 21st century vernacular to imply that women can now be president.  Meaning we are gender-blind when we read it.  Bachmann, however, being the strict original Constitutionalist that she says she is, finally recognized that the Founders' intent was for women to remain at home and men to vote, hold office and be president.  Thankfully she had time to realize this before she was elected to the highest office in the land; an office the Christian-inspired men who wrote the Constitution didn't intend for her to have.

Michelle Bachmann Is So Stupid

Michelle Bachmann tells a high school student in Iowa that gay people can get married, just so long as it's to the opposite sex.

Bachmann went on to explain in sordid detail that there are no special rights for people's sexual preferences.  Whatever that may mean, allowing same sex marriage doesn't grant them special rights.  It grants them equal rights.

Her husband is gay, so she should know a thing or two about gays marrying the opposite sex.

The Problem With the House of Representatives

“It consists half of people who think like Michele Bachmann and half of people who are afraid of losing a primary to people who think like Michele Bachmann, and that leaves very little room to work things out.” -- Barney Frank speaking about what the House is like under Republican rule.

That's actually a very scary statement.  But that's just how extreme the Republican Party has become.  Bachmann is a lunatic.  Everything she stands for is the exact opposite of what has made this country so great.  Yet because of Fox News and the Republican media machine, the whole country is forced to give equal playing time to people of Bachmann's ilk.  We haven't even come close to seeing how Crazy this whole thing is going to get.  Oh no, the GOP has plenty of Crazy left in 'em.  Just wait, it will get worse.

Quickies

  • Michelle Bachmann, yet another female right wing lunatic in the mold of Palin, lied today by saying her presidential campaign had over 250,000 donors.  She's crazy.
  • Ron Paul called the Occupy Wall St. protest a "legitimate effort."
  • Turns out Sean Hannity's claim that Obama was hanging out with Black Panthers in 2007 is a total lie.  Yeah, real shocker.
  • Fox News' Steve Doocy, once again, distorts the facts about Reagan's presidency.  Doocy claimed that Obama's policies won't work and he should instead look at Reagan's "permanent tax cuts" to get the economy on the right track.  As County Fair notes, Reagan's tax cuts in '81 and '86 were offset by his 11 tax increases.  One of those 11 increases was the largest tax increase during peacetime in history.  Never mind any of that though.  As always though, we aren't talking about Real Reagan here.  Republicans are simply talking about Fantasy World Reagan.

Most Awesomest Ever!!

Fantasy World Queen
The people who told us the Tea Bagger marches on Washington back in 2009 were the largest in the history of the world, now tell us that right wing extremist Liberty University is the best university "in the history of the world."

This is your standard case of Republican delusion no doubt about it. These are the same people who continually lie about death panels, killing old people, concentration camps, socialist takeovers, free health care for illegals, fake birth certificates, missiles in Cuba and ultimately gave us 8 Great years of George W. Bush. They are the very same people. None of us should be terribly surprised that exposing their lies only makes them lie more.

Bachmann Fears Muslim Missiles in Cuba

Heaven Help Us All.

While in Iowa, Batshit Crazy Michelle Bachmann was asked what she thought about normalizing relations with Cuba.

BACHMANN: Why would you normalize trading with a country that sponsors terror? There’s reports that have come out that Cuba has been working with another terrorist organization called Hezbollah. And Hezbollah is potentially looking at wanting to be part of missile sites in Iran and, of course, when you’re 90 miles offshore from Florida, you don’t want to entertain the prospect of hosting bases or sites where Hezbollah could have training camps or perhaps have missile sites or weapons sites in Cuba. This would be foolish.

I literally can't make this stuff up.  There's really not a sane one in the bunch.

Bachmann Blew It Long Before Vaccination Stunt

With or without her idiotic insistence the vaccination can cause retardation, she didn't stand a chance at winning the nomination or the presidency.  She's a complete idiot.  She won an Iowa straw poll in which you pay people to go vote for you.  Only about half of every vote she paid for showed up to vote for her.  How that equals frontrunner status or being on the verge of capturing the presidency is simply a figment of the Republican Fantasy World.

Also, insisting the vaccination stunt is what is going to do her in isn't true either.  She never had a chance.  Never.

And Now We Know Why She's a Tea Bagger
