Bob Dole Hates America and is Muslim

Bob Dole goes to Fox News and tells the cult exactly what they don't want to hear.

Asked whether he would be welcomed by the Republican Party today, Dole said, “I doubt it. Reagan wouldn’t have made it, certainly Nixon wouldn’t have made it, because he had ideas. We might have made it, but I doubt it.”

No doubt Reagan, who raised taxes 11 times, grew government to enormous levels, supported gun-control, granted amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, secretly sold arms to Iran (one-third of the Axis of Evil), armed Saddam Hussein (one-third of the Axis of Evil), armed, funded and openly supported al Qeada and bin Laden, and who dared call the neocons the "crazies in the basement," would not be considered for a precinct committeeman's office in today's GOP, much less anything higher.

I find it highly unlikely that Dole, a two-time presidential candidate, would be either.  Insane people like Ted Cruz, and Darryl Issa are what Republican voters want in their candidates.  On the contrary, Bill Clinton is welcomed to the Democratic Party with opened-arms, and by the public in general.  So is his wife who will probably be the next and first female president.  So is Gore, and so is Carter.  Aside from Dukakis, who is still very much a part of Democratic circles, I can't think of any who would be shunned today.  The GOP is all but reserved for crazies, bigots, and entertainers.  The 70s, 80s and 90s Republican Party is long gone.

Republican Adam Kokesh Calls for Armed Overthrow of America

A 2010 Republican candidate for New Mexico's 3rd Congressional Seat, Adam Kokesh, is calling for a 50-state armed rebellion against the federal government.

Kokesh is a familiar face amongst the Ron Paul Republicans.  He claims to be anti-war and yet calls for an armed rebellion against the federal government.  Of course, as with all Republicans, he's just mad his Party isn't in power anymore. And since they can't win at the ballot box, they must turn to violent means to ensure the rule of the GOP.

Late update:

Kokesh has called off his march on DC.  He is instead insisting his followers march on their respective state capitols to force them to nullify the Union. Sounds like a cop-out to me.

Don't Let the Door Hit Ya

Sad, sad day for right wing extremists.  Also a sad day for The Fold Blog anytime a Batshit Crazy Republican calls it quits.

Count Me As Skeptical

(CNN) -- President Barack Obama recast the U.S. fight against terrorism as no longer a "boundless global war" but a targeted effort to dismantle specific extremist networks.

He said America was at a "crossroads" and should no longer see it as a "self-defeating" perpetual fight, but one that must at some point end, "like all wars."

Obama said "the core of al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan is on a path to defeat,'' but its affiliates elsewhere pose dangers. He also touched on new overseas and homegrown threats, and explained publicly the use of drones against terror suspects overseas.

For some reason I'm not grasping this.  I do agree the perpetual war agenda is self-defeating, ridiculous and very costly.  But I fail to see how "affiliates else pose dangers" as a refocus of the war is any different in the long term, perpetually speaking of course.

No doubt the Obama administration has waged a much more effective war against al Qeada.  There's no comparing Bush's invasion of a country with nothing to do with 9/11 to Obama locating and killing bin Laden.  No comparison whatsoever.  With that said, the war on terrorism has never been a struggle of military might.  It's always been a struggle of thoughts, ideas, and modernization. Let's hope another refocus of this 12 year war is finally defined in such terms.

They Said It...

This week's account of normal everyday Republican patriot speech

• Republican Fox News Host Andrea Tantaros: “This is what is happening to our press! This is Obama’s America! It’s like the Soviet Union.  He said he would change the country. He said it. And a lot of people voted for him.  And if you see any of those people today, do me a favor, punch them in the face.”

• Republican Alex Jones: "of course there's weather weapon stuff going on -- we had floods in Texas like fifteen years ago, killed thirty-something people in one night. Turned out it was the Air Force."

• Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-TN): “For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: Anyone unwilling to work should not eat.”

• Republican Pete Santilli: I want to shoot [Clinton] right in the vagina and I don't want her to die right away

First Black President Jinx

In 1993 Republicans claimed there would be no way Bill Clinton would get re-elected.  Back then, Republicans argued, Dems had stolen the election by implanting Ross Perot-- and also because the Clintons were murdering people that disagreed with them.  When in 1996 Clinton easily coasted to re-election and had successfully turned the economy around, Republicans still claimed that he wasn't a real president and was going to destroy the country.  So, just like all good and faithful patriots do, they created controversy after controversy to bring down his presidency.  We all forget, they came very close to doing so.

Fast forward to today.  Very similar situations.  A Democratic president stuck to clean up the economic mess his very unpopular Republican predecessor left for him.  And don't forget the constant crying of Republicans calling him a fake president that wants to destroy America.  It's all very similar.  Just like in 1997, when Republicans couldn't win at the ballot, they sought to remove from office a popular president by creating scandal after scandal.  Except this time there's a problem.  Rush Limbaugh, the leader of the GOP, concludes it's impossible to remove the first black president of the Untied States.  This really has to throw a wrench in their plans.

They Stole the Election

Good ole fat boy Alex Jones.  He never lets me down.  He's easier to predict than the sun rising in the morning.

Jones during a phone interview with Gun-boy Lovers of America:

"They stole the election. That’s what I’m worried about, Larry,” Jones told Pratt. “There’s so much election fraud now. They’re about to legalize the 30 million illegals. But they know this is their last shot, because America is starting to wake up.”

Stole the election? Of course the Dems stole the election. That's the only way we can win. Obama did it by sending the IRS after right wing Tea Bagger groups and by skewing the polls, and by dispatching his Black Panthers to guard the polls, and by intimidating the media to not report anything negative.  Thank you Alex Jones for being so right all the time.

Presumably, the Dems wanting to legalize 30 million illegals is so we can guarantee our future dictatorship for years to come.  It's our only shot, like Alex says.  Because we all know the only people who vote Demcoratic are non-Americans.  Wheeee!!

Rand Paul Knows There's a Memo Somewhere

Rand Paul claims he knows there's a written memo somewhere containing policy to go after "conservative groups" by the IRS.

Sure the IRS applied extra scrutiny to conservative political groups seeking 501 status.  But they applied the same extra attention to liberal groups too.  They should to all political groups.

When asked how he knew of such a memo, Randy responded:  "I don't know if that comes from a policy, but that's what's being reported in the press and reported orally. I haven't seen a policy statement, but I think we need to see that."

By "press" he means Fox News, Drudge, and Alex Jones.  And by "orally" he means within Republican circles.  Let's face it, everything else is pure liberal bias under orders by Obama to not report anything negative.  There's a village full of idiots and Randy Paul is their leader.

Congressional GOP Has Known About IRS Tea Bagger Scrutiny Since Last July

"Republicans in Congress have known that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) asked additional questions of some tea party groups seeking tax exempt status since last July, only recently raising the issue as a matter of controversy according to documents released by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform."

It's also important to mention that many liberal leaning political groups were also targeted for extra scrutiny by the IRS.  But that's okay because liberal groups hate America.

Also, one huge item that is getting over looked in this whole mess is why and how can political groups be considered "social welfare" organizations by the IRS????  They can't.  A Tea Bagger group is in no way a "social welfare" organization that should receive 501 status by the IRS.  And neither is any liberal group either.  Their sole purpose for existence is political action.  None of them should ever get a charity classification by the government, ever.

The Polls Were Skewed But It Wasn't the Dems'

Another good place to pick up my writing is at the exact same place I left off: Republicans Creating an Alternative Reality So They Can Sleep at Night.

It's the same tired story, no matter the topic.  Reality tells us one thing and Republicans completely invent a fantasy to tone it out.  There may be no greater or better example of such Republican anti-reality dwelling than the 2012 election. For years Republicans told us there was no way Obama could get re-elected. When every poll ever conducted showed Obama winning easily, Republicans invented the "skewed poll theory" to escape reality.  Fox News led the way in reporting the skewed stories.  Republicans cheered it on as they completely believed that the polls were tilted in favor of Obama and that they had exposed it to the world and had the election in the bag.

As the world knows, Obama coasted to victory.  The polls weren't skewed.  They were nearly exact.  Those who were wrong, so wrong that they looked like complete idiots, were the Republicans and their media organization for trumping such biased, unrealistic stories in the first place.  But remember, when you live in an alternate reality totally consumed with the belief you are superior to everyone else, and that everyone else hates America, you can pretty much be wrong constantly and it never really matters.  Thus we have the all new and improved GOP 2014 Polling Guidelines.  Good luck with that.

It's Called Lying

One contemplation I've noticed about stoppages in writing is where do you pick back up again?  Currently there's no shortage of political topics with all the GOP craziness trying to create a scandal for one of the most non-scandalous administrations of all time.  But where do you delve into it?  GOP staffers portraying edited email conversations as direct quotes trying to frame the administration is a perfectly good spot:

CBS NEWS: "...Republicans have claimed that the State Department under Hillary Clinton was trying to protect itself from criticism. The White House released the real e-mails late yesterday and here’s what we found when we compared them to the quotes that had been provided by Republicans.

One e-mail was written by Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes. On Friday, Republicans leaked what they said was a quote from Rhodes. “We must make sure that the talking points reflect all agency equities, including those of the State Department, and we don’t want to undermine the FBI investigation.” But it turns out, in the actual e-mail Rhodes did not mention the State Department. It read “We need to resolve this in a way that respects all the relevant equities, particularly the investigation.” Republicans also provided what they said was a quote from an e-mail written by State Department Spokesman Victoria Nuland. The Republican version notes Nuland discussing: “The penultimate point is a paragraph talking about all the previous warnings provided by the Agency (CIA) about al-Qaeda’s presence and activities of al-Qaeda.” The actual e-mail from Nuland says: the “…penultimate point could be abused by Members to beat the State Department for not paying attention to Agency warnings…” The C.I.A. agreed with the concerns raised by the State Department and revised the talking points to make them less specific than the C.I.A.’s original version, eliminating references to al-Qaeda and affiliates and earlier security warnings. There is no evidence, Scott, the White House orchestrated these changes.

Holy cow! Could it be any more blunt?

Of course, Republicans that actually this report will only chalk it up to the Liberal Media.  Most won't even see it because Fox News will never ever let such reality enter into the Fantasy World they have created.

Great Taste, Less Filling

As you can see, we have a new look.  We're not finished with it just yet.  Still have some things to add and we're not too sure if the comments are working properly.  Also, the label/category thing doesn't appear to be working either.  For the most part, though, it's taking shape just fine.

There's still a lot of work to finish so I won't bore you too much with the details.  Just expect some more changes to take shape really soon.  Thanks for reading.

It's the Filibuster Rule Stupid

I'm honestly not sure what the big deal is about four Democratic Senators not voting for the Manchin-Toomey amendment to extend some background checks. Or rather I have no clue why Democrats are so upset about at their own when the real culprit here is the filibuster rule.

Dems had plenty of votes to pass the bill.  Plenty.  Per the Constitution it only requires a simple majority to pass and send bills out of the Senate.  There is no mention of a 60-vote threshold in the entire document.  The 60-vote rule is a relic left over to protect the minority.  It's useless and it's the real reason Dems didn't pass the bill.

Besides, even if the four Democrats pictured above had voted with their Party and not sided with the GOP, the bill would have went no where.  There isn't a chance in the world the House would have picked it up.  In other words, it was never ever going to become law.  So why the frustration with four senators who were clearly voting exactly how the majority of their state wanted them to vote?

Senate Gun Bill Gets Filibustered

Actually two senate gun safety bills go down to filibuster today.  One was  heavily backed by Democrats and the other by Republicans.  Neither could overcome the 60 vote rule.  However, the Democratic bill did get 54 votes, a solid majority.

Quickies

This week in Republican rhetoric:

• Republican Representative Louie Gohmert  of Texas excruciatingly claimed that radical Muslims are "being trained to come in and act like Hispanics when they’re radical Islamists."  He also tried pin the Boston bombings on foreign nationals when at this moment no one knows who committed the attacks.  

• Republican and self-proclaimed Man of God, Pat Robertson stated on his 700 Club show compared gays to the illuminati.  

• In an email to other New Hampshire house Republicans, Rep. Peter Hansen (R-Amherst) referred to women as "vaginas."  Don't worry women, he was only calling evil Liberal islamofascist feminazi women vaginas.  Those that vote Republican and love their country are excluded.  

• Bob Davis, a Republican radio host in Minnesota, angrily stated on his morning show that the victims of the Newtown shooting massacre (20 children in first grade) and their families  that he is "sick and tired of seeing these victims trotted out,” and that “I would stand in front of them and tell them, ‘go to hell.’”

• Totally crazy nutjob conspiracy theorist and former Republican candidate for Texas House, Alex Jones (who is a total and complete idiot that hates America) has been on a rampage since yesterday claiming the Boston Marathon bombings are a result of a "false flag" operation by the FBI-- you know just like every other terrorist act of the last 80 years.  This guy couldn't fight his way out of a paper sack. What a joke.

NRCC Throws in the Towel on Mark Sanford

Blindsided by news that Sanford’s ex-wife has accused him of trespassing and concluding he has no plausible path to victory, the National Republican Congressional Committee has decided not to spend more money on Sanford’s behalf ahead of the May 7 special election.

What's more remarkable about this story is that Republican voters actually wanted him back in elected office.  A fiscal and moral fraud yet they think he's the one to elect to office to showcase their perceived values.  It's nuts.

North Korea would be over in a matter of weeks not months

The man who told us Iraq would only last a matter of weeks, that it had something to do with 9/11 and the invasion was "sound policy", attended one of his infamous GOP leadership meetings where he told his fellow Bushies that we are in deep doo-doo in regards to North Korea.

Why this guy is allowed to speak about American foreign policy ever again is a travesty for human life.
